Central National Museum of Korea

This gigantic building with beautiful landscaping opened as the crown jewel of Korea's national museum system in 2005, and sustains blatant a ambition to become one of the top dozen greatest museums in the world -- and maybe it is! There are dozens of galleries on three floors surrounding a huge central hallway, covering every aspect of Korea's history (except the shamanism and folklore), special collections and other Asian arts. There are also some great outdoor displays, such as a garden of historic stone pagodas. I have been a guide in it nearly 100 times, and am an expert on its displays.
