After a 45 min. drive from your place in Panama City we will take our second mode of transportation &canoe up the mighty Chagres River to the Embera Indian Village. A priceless encounter with one of Panama's 7 native indigenous groups, the Emberas who trained the U. S Astronauts in jungle survival (in case the aircraft had a mishap &would land in a tropical rainforest the Astronauts would survive prior to being rescued). We will be met by the "Reception Committee" with their native, Nature-made musical instruments. Once we settle in we will live a life-long-remembered experience, witnessing their native dances, as well as having the opportunity of purchasing handicraft items made right there (from Nature-provided raw materials) and maybe get "Jagua-Tatooed" (an extract of a fruit that will wear-off in 8-10 days). All of this, coupled with a typical Embera Meal as well as an explanation about their traditions &way of life. we can walk thougth the rainforest up to a waterfall where you can swimm at its base
Asdrubal was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable. It was great to hear the history of Panamá and the canal. The Embera Native Village was an excellent experience. We appreciated how they shared their culture with us. This tour was a definite highlight of our visit.
We had an amazing experience at Embera Village & Asdrubal filled the drive to & from with information about the protected forrest we were passing through & the rural communities outside of Panama City. He prepped us with the history of the forrest & land that the Embera occupy and the role the Chagres River plays in supplying Gatun Lake. He told us of the role the Embera's played in the survival training of the Apollo astronauts. Asdrubal does not give you a tour, he makes you fall in love with Panama!!

Asdrubal was a fantastic guide for our visit to the Embera Village! He picked us up on time, spoke perfect English, was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Panama, and was a real pleasure to spend the day with. The scenery in the Chagres Natl Park was beautiful and the Embera people very welcoming. Learned about their culture, had a delicious snack of plantains and fresh fish, purchased some beautiful handicrafts and enjoyed dancing with them. Be sure to leave early to see the waterfall!

Asdrubal is an excellent tour guide who pays attention to details and is always observing and taking into account his customers interest. The transportation is in a Kia Sportage 2021 for 4 persons. If your group is bigger I can get a bigger car, or if you prefer, a luxury car like Mercedes, BMW or Suburban. Please, just let me know. Canoe is a motorized dug-out canoe.
