Montenegro - sweeter then honey - Gastronomy and culture tour

Toured with Djordje , there were 4 of us. It was great, had to adjust our tour some due to road construction. I think it was better. Started up Mt Lovcen in a cable car near Kotor. Views are unbelievable. Then we headed down the mountain in our van, just beautiful views. Next stopped through a small village(Rijeka) towards Lake Skadar, I can't describe the views. We then we to a working bee farm and had food that reminded me of my grandmother, phenomenal!! End the day in Cetinje, the old Capital. This is a great tour and a great guide.

Hiring a private tour guide is certainly an extravagance, but when things go correctly, this can be the best way to see a new destination.Such was the case on our tour of Kotor, Cetinje, a honey bee farm with private farmhouse lunch, and scenic roads with Djordje. He filled us with knowledge of Montenegrin culture, history, geography, food, and even music. he allowed us ample time to ask questions, and even told us classic Montenegrin jokes. Despite the tour running overtime, he encouraged us to spend 30 minutes wandering Kotor old town on our own, even though this was not on the itinerary. Djordje went above and beyond our expectations.

Traveled to Montenegro with my husband for three days. As is our custom, we book a tour with a guide to orient ourselves to the local culture, history, politics, etc. "George" exceed our expectations at every step. He customized our tour with adding a tour of a bee farm as well as a midday meal at a friend's home. He was courteous, timely and kind. Even an accident in front of us on the mountain road did not faze him. He improvised our day and made it even better. We would highly recommend George.

Our tour was crammed with picturesque country, a tour guide that was both personable and smart, and overall, a great experience!!

This was a long tour- Djordje even suggested I spend the night in Kotor and make it 2 days but it didn't work with my scheduled activities. It was really fun and interesting. The honey farm is fascinating and Djordje introduced me to the family who has been raising bees for 150 years. Make sure you see the photo of Great-Granddad who started it all and lived to 103! Djordje is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, full of interesting facts about his country. Don't miss this tour!
