Kotor old town and Boka bay speed boat tour - From historical heritage to hidden gems

Djordie was a fun guide. The experience started off with excellent communication, he was so prompt at answering questions, crafting a personalized experience and creating a proposal that was clear and easy to understand. George (as we called him) was waiting to meet us as soon as our tender docked. He walked us around Old Town and gave us some very interesting details on history, architecture, culture and the political history of the area. We then walked a short distance to the waiting boat for a bay tour that included a stop at Our Lady of the Rock, which he again told us interesting facts and history about. We hopped back on our speed boat- it was a bit choppy and we were going quickly to see the submarine tunnels, the yacht port and stopped for a quick swim. We made our way back on the boat and went to the charming town or Perast where we walked for a bit, again some history and architecture information, before hopping back onboard to dock in Kotor. We walked about 15 minutes to the home of a lovely lady and her family where she treated us to a lunch of typical montenegran foods. An eggplant cheese dish that was so tasty we could not get enough, with a phyllo tart, homemade red pepper sauces, fresh fruit followed by the main course of a roast beef type dish served with homemade gnochhi, ice cream with pistachio sauce for dessert was not homemade but we enjoyed it. George went above and beyond to find a dark beer for one of our group and we talked for a long time just as if we were in the home of friends. They talked about culture and politics, it was so interesting hearing their views and comparing them to other eastern block citizens we have spoken with. Both George and our lovely hostess spoke excellent English which made the day a bit easier for us. We then said our goodbyes and walked back to Kotor, full and feeling as if we had experienced a small bit of authentic Montenegran life
