Hello! My name is Filip. My hometown is Kotor, an absolute gem surrounded by mountains and hidden deep into the Bay of Kotor, one of the most beautiful fjords in the world, which is protected by UNESCO. I am a native of Kotor and Montenegro, and my family is local here for centuries, during all good and bad times we were here (I will tell you some local stories that I learned from my grandparents if and when we meet). I was raised learning local customs, local slang, culture, even how to make local food and drinks. Let me tell you a bit about my professional development. All my life I am so eager and enthusiastic to learn and improve in foreign languages and meet people from all over the world. After getting a Business English degree from the university, I was doing different jobs related to my profession, but honestly none of those jobs allowed me to show my full potential. Then, slowly I started working jobs related to tourism, like being museum guide (docent) at Roman Mosaics in Risan and later on the island of Our Lady of the Rocks in Perast. I liked those jobs, but I wanted to go even further. So, shortly after that I became a licensed tour guide for Montenegro, and since then, I completely fell in love with being a tour guide and meeting people from all over the world and showing them all of the beautiful places we have here. First of all, I really like my country, I admire all of the places every single day, and that's the main reason why I do every single tour with the same passion and enthusiasm as if it was the first one ever. I am into this business 24/7 and I am so eager to develop even further my guiding services. Being born and raised local in Kotor and Montenegro, I am very familiar with places and activities in Kotor and all over Montenegro . Let me take you on a unique journey through the history, culture and landscapes of my country, since I was born and raised here, I know every corner of it. Visit one of the most important places in Montenegro such as Our Lady of the Rocks' island. Let's find out together why people decided to make an island on top of 21 ft²(2 m²) natural reef. The island's church and a museum will blow your mind, with embroidery made by a local woman using her own natural hair. During our time together, we will also visit the Blue cave, which is magical, where you can swim in transparent turquoise water. We will visit submarine tunnels built into the hollow mountains that the military used even in the 19th Century. Also, we will pass by and take photos of "Montenegrin Alcatraz", Mamula Island, which used to be a prison and a concentration camp in the past. Of course, you won't miss the opportunity to see Old Town Kotor, an ancient city that became a UNESCO site for its historical and cultural value.
Filip was a great tour guide. he was very interested in the future of his country and very interested in its ancient past. His knowledge of the history of his country and his joyful expression about where it’s place in history lays from the ancient rulers to the current and in the future, made the trip with him very enjoyable. Our time with Filip was a fun ind enriching experience.
This was a great trip. Ivana and Filip were great. We were on a very small boat and you have to go out into the ocean a ways to get to the blue cave, so small boat and ocean not for those who get sea sick. But captain was experienced and we had great weather. You will be on the water for about 3 hours to make the trip from Kotor the chapel to blue cave, so this is definitely for those who want to be out on the water.
We really enjoyed our tour today by Filip, a local guide born in Montenegro. He arranged an amazing boat tour for our group of 4 and we were shocked by how beautiful this nation is. He provided background and history where necessary but wasn’t overbearing. Excellent guide showed us a fantastic time in Montenegro. Highly recommend.
Filip was helpful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed everything we saw. The landscape is gorgeous and we especially enjoyed swimming in the Adriatic. The speedboat tour is an excellent way to see the beautiful scenery, and then we also learned a lot on our walking tour of the old city.
Filip is an incredible tour guide. Initially, I contacted him to see if it was possible to combine two of his tours in Montenegro. The end result was spectacular. Not only did he combine the tours, but we did most of the touring with a speedboat, which was so much fun!! We all enjoyed the day spent with Filip and at the end, he showed us a nice place to eat. Most importantly, he helped us with transportation between Dubrovnik and Montenegro. This was extremely helpful. We couldn’t have seen everything we did without Filip. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, professional, promptly answered my emails and even called me to confirm info. Filip and the speed boat driver were so much fun…always smiling and laughing!! We weren’t sure what to expect during our cruise stop in the port of Kotor—Filip (and Captain Alex) did not disappoint! It was a gem of a tour with the adventure around the bay to the Lady of the Rocks, Blue Grotto, (and more)…as well as touring around Old Town, ending with a great meal recommendation. - Meeting in front of the Port of Kotor (I will be waiting for you holding a sign with your name): -(50 min) Speedboat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks island and its guided tour -(35-40 min)Speedboat ride to the Blue Cave. On our way we enter one of old military submarine bases from XIX century - (25-30 min) Blue Cave time for swimming and taking photos!(If you plan to swim, please put your swimsuits on before the tour. As well, put something on top of swimsuit if you want to enter church/museum). Also, bring your towels with you if you plan to swim! - (50min) Boat ride back to Kotor - (1h - 1h15min) Kotor Old Town walking tour - At the end, I will escort you to the port if you plan to go back to the ship immediately after our guided tour. If you want to spend more time in the town on your own I will instruct you how to get back to the port(5-7 minutes walk from the old town) NOTE! The tour is customizable
