Hello and welcome to Santorini – the most enchanting island of Greece. An island of contrasts, both wild and gentle, timeless and ever-changing. Santorini is pure magic: a place that captivates the heart, softens the soul, and leaves every visitor spellbound. My name is Anna, and I am a licensed tour guide of Greece with a degree in History and Archaeology. From a very young age, history was my greatest passion. After completing my studies in 2010, I realized that what I truly wanted was not only to research the past but to bring it to life, to share stories with people, and to connect culture with real experiences. In 2014, I became a licensed guide – and since then, guiding has been not just my profession, but my calling. With me, you won’t just see Santorini – you will experience it. Together we will wander through its hidden gems, explore the prehistoric town of Akrotiri, stroll picturesque villages, taste the island’s world-famous wines and local delicacies, and capture unforgettable moments against breathtaking views. Every tour can be tailored to your interests, ensuring a personal and memorable journey. Whether you want to dive deep into history, savor authentic flavors, or simply enjoy Santorini’s beauty, I will create an experience designed just for you. Let me share my passion, knowledge, and love for this island with you. Discover Santorini not as a visitor, but as a guest welcomed into its heart. Visit Pompeii of the Aegean with a licensed tourist guide - graduate of History & Archaeology. The archaeological site of Akrotiri is considered to be one of the most important prehistoric settlements ever found. Back in the 17th century BC, people of Akrotiri lived in a town of sophisticated multi-storeyed buildings with magnificent wall-paintings, had elaborate drainage and water supply system, enjoying prosperity. Together we will walk along the cobblestone alleys and we will travel 3. 600 years ago. With my help and your imagination, we will bring the prehistoric town to life. All this beauty and "technology" was suddenly lost when one of the largest volcanic eruptions occurred. The whole town got buried under the volcanic ash and like Pompeii, froze in time. The description of Plato for the destruction of the mythological island of Atlantis has many common points with the story of Akrotiri, which also disappeared without leaving any trace. So was Akrotiri the lost Atlantis?
After we meet each other we will head to the southern part of the island where one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 60s was made, Akrotiri! There, we will travel 3. 600 years back in time and explore one of the most advanced prehistoric towns of antiquity. The whole archaeological site is easy to walk and under a bio-climatic shelter. On the way, we will come across the famous vineyards and look at their weird shape up close. We will admire the view and of course, we will talk about the island. After visiting the site we will drive to Fira the capital. There, we will find the prehistoric museum of Thera that holds some of the most important findings and of course the wallpaintings. The tour will end with a short walk in Fira. **If you are a cruise ship passenger you should know that the port in Santorini is tendered. You will be brought to the old harbor and then board the cable car to reach the main town. That's where I will be waiting for you so we can start our tour!
