Anna was an incredible guide for our large group of 40. She is a natural teacher and calibrated our tour to appeal to our high school students. When we return to Greece, I will definitely book with her again. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Hello and welcome to Santorini – the most enchanting island of Greece. An island of contrasts, both wild and gentle, timeless and ever-changing. Santorini is pure magic: a place that captivates the heart, softens the soul, and leaves every visitor spellbound. My name is Anna, and I am a licensed tour guide of Greece with a degree in History and Archaeology. From a very young age, history was my greatest passion. After completing my studies in 2010, I realized that what I truly wanted was not only to research the past but to bring it to life, to share stories with people, and to connect culture with real experiences. In 2014, I became a licensed guide – and since then, guiding has been not just my profession, but my calling. With me, you won’t just see Santorini – you will experience it. Together we will wander through its hidden gems, explore the prehistoric town of Akrotiri, stroll picturesque villages, taste the island’s world-famous wines and local delicacies, and capture unforgettable moments against breathtaking views. Every tour can be tailored to your interests, ensuring a personal and memorable journey. Whether you want to dive deep into history, savor authentic flavors, or simply enjoy Santorini’s beauty, I will create an experience designed just for you. Let me share my passion, knowledge, and love for this island with you. Discover Santorini not as a visitor, but as a guest welcomed into its heart. Visit Pompeii of the Aegean with a licensed tourist guide - graduate of History & Archaeology. The archaeological site of Akrotiri is considered to be one of the most important prehistoric settlements ever found. Back in the 17th century BC, people of Akrotiri lived in a town of sophisticated multi-storeyed buildings with magnificent wall-paintings, had elaborate drainage and water supply system, enjoying prosperity. Together we will walk along the cobblestone alleys, see the first toilet of Europe and admire the wallpaintings and pottery they made . All this beauty and "technology" was suddenly lost when one of the largest volcanic eruptions occurred. The whole town got buried under the volcanic ash and like Pompeii, froze in time. The description of Plato for the destruction of the mythological island of Atlantis has many common points with the story of Akrotiri, which also disappeared without leaving any trace. So was Akrotiri the lost Atlantis? Follow me in this tour and let's find out !

Anna communicates well and is very knowledgeable- we enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend her.
With all there is to see at the site I think you would struggle to fully understand it on your own. Anna made our visit to Akrotiri memorable by weaving her command of dates and facts into stories and explanations of the people that lived at Akrotiri, the time they lived in, and their place in the world at large. A fantastic guide and a great host for the island of Santorini.
Anna provided an engaging and informative tour of the Akrotiri ruins to my daughter and me. My wife stayed back at the hotel pool. I realized just how good Anna was when my daughter repeated the tour for my wife the next day when we visited the Ankrotiri frescos at the Prehistoric Museum. My daughter was able to describe all of the frescos and their meaning to my wife.
We were treated to The Lost Atlantis - tour of the Akrotiri archeological site by Anna Karadimou. Anna is deeply knowledgeable on the history of the Greek Isles and the significance of the Akrotiri site, and is a wonderful story teller. Her portfolio of visuals adds colorful perspective to the site. Take her advice to visit the Museum of Prehistoric Thera in Fira to see the wall paintings, ceramics and Jewellery from this ancient settlement. Thank you Anna. All the best for a season of enthralled guests.
Excellent tour! Anna provided an well spoken and thorough tour of the ruins at Akrotiri. Very knowledgeable and descriptive. She also utilized and iPad with supplementary photos of artifacts and frescos found at the site but located in other museums.
