When I hopped off of a ferry boat and onto Aegina island more than 30 years ago, I would never have believed that Aegina would become my home - even though it was love at first sight. I live on Aegina with my family and many cats and dogs. Luck and chance brought me here but I couldn't have chosen a better place to live. Aegina is a beautiful island with a fascinating history, inhabited by warm, hospitable people, surrounded by glittering clear blue sea and with deliciously healthy Greek cuisine that I'll never grow tired of. I have been living on Aegina for more than 30 years and during that time I've learnt so much of the island's history, mythology, traditions and way of life. I love introducing my guests to all of the wonders that Aegina has to offer I am not a licenced guide

A fun day trip suitable for the whole family
Overview of your Aegina tour
Moni island is a short boat trip away from Aegina. Surrounded by a clear blue and aquamarine sea and covered in pine trees, this island is a little slice of paradise. Peacocks are always grateful for a snack and, if we're lucky, we may get to see some elusive wild goats called Krikri. Deer and smaller buck also live on Moni. The sea around Moni island is a great place for snorkeling. The village of Perdika, where the boats going to and from Moni are moored, is a picturesque little fishing village. A good place to relax, have a coffee or meal and watch the boats come and go.

Sandy welcomed us warmly at the ferry dock, and thus began our three days of touring the island together: picturesque narrow lanes and roads, gorgeous views, walks through deserted villages, lunches in country tavernas, visits to stores with local products. Throughout, Sandy, a very longtime resident, informed us about the history and culture of the island and made sure we had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing time with her. We recommend her highly!

Your Aegina tour itinerary
We'll take a lovely 15 minute drive along Aegina's coast to Perdika. While waiting for one of the boats that goes to and from Moni (or we might be lucky and arrive just when one is leaving) we can take a walk around the village or maybe have a drink in one of the tavernas or coffee shops overlooking the harbor. The ten minute trip across from Perdika to Moni island is a very pleasant trip. On the way back we will could stop off at a taverna for lunch. I will leave you at the port of Aegina to browse and stroll around the main town of the island before making your return trip to Pireus. I can customize this tour for larger groups.
