When I hopped off of a ferry boat and onto Aegina island more than 30 years ago, I would never have believed that Aegina would become my home - even though it was love at first sight. I live on Aegina with my family and many cats and dogs. Luck and chance brought me here but I couldn't have chosen a better place to live. Aegina is a beautiful island with a fascinating history, inhabited by warm, hospitable people, surrounded by glittering clear blue sea and with deliciously healthy Greek cuisine that I'll never grow tired of. I have been living on Aegina for more than 30 years and during that time I've learnt so much of the island's history, mythology, traditions and way of life. I love introducing my guests to all of the wonders that Aegina has to offer I am not a licenced guide

Overview of your Aegina tour
If you'd like a fun, inspiring walk, I'd love to be your guide. I can bring along a dog or two too, if you'd enjoy their happy company. We'll make our way along the well worn footpath under a canopy of trees up stone steps that have been cut out of the rock. We'll pass through the picturesque villages of Kapotithes and Pachia rachi - where 400 year old stone houses have been lovingly restored. After a stroll around Pachia rachi to admire beautiful gardens and inspiring architecture we'll follow a footpath down to the ancient olive grove of Elaonas - where the trees are estimated to be between 1000 and 2000 years old our tour will end where it started off, sandy beach of Marathonas

Our tour around Aegina with Sandra was Awesome! She crafted the perfect 'off the beaten path' experience for myself and two friends. We started the day with a long hike, moved on to an incredible lunch, followed by a gorgeous secluded beach where I swam and napped. Your Aegina tour itinerary
This 5. 8 kilometre walk takes about 3 hours to complete Starting at the beach of Marathonas we'll walk along a busy road for a short distance before turning left to begin our climb. The first part of the climb, for approximately 100m, is steep but the view once we reach the start of the footpath is lovely. The first leg of the walk to Kapotithes, often under a canopy of trees, takes approximately 35 minutes. Our meandering climb to Pachiarachi, up well worn steps cut out of the rock, will take another 30 minutes. From Pachia rachi it'll take another half an hour to reach the valley of ELEIONAS. The walk from Eleaonas back to Marathonas takes approximately 50 minutes.
