Explore Savannah your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Savannah tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Savannah for every interest, including:

History tours: Step inside First African Baptist Church to hear how lantern signals guided freedom seekers, then stand by the cannons at Fort Pulaski to learn how rifled artillery changed the war. Your guide can weave in stops at Colonial Park Cemetery and the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace to match your interests.

Nature and Wildlife tours: Glide by boat through Bull River or Wassaw Sound to watch bottlenose dolphins and brown pelicans, or spend a morning in Savannah National Wildlife Refuge spotting alligators and herons from the dikes. You can also walk shaded trails at Oatland Island for close-up views of native habitats.

Architecture tours: Compare Regency, Italianate, and Gothic Revival details at Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters, the Davenport House, and the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Stroll Jones Street and Monterey Square as your guide points out wrought-iron balconies and hidden carriage lanes across the neighbourhood squares.

Getting around: The Historic District is very walkable, and the free DOT shuttles and Savannah Belles Ferry make short hops easy. For places spread out like Wormsloe Historic Site, Bonaventure Cemetery, or Tybee Island, ask your local guide about private transportation or book a chauffeured tour so travel between stops is simple.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Savannah inside and out.
