Hello Traveler, are you dreaming to discover the South of France? Look no further! I am Tanya, an experienced guide and art history enthusiast. Let me show you the regions I love most - Riviera and Provence, true sanctuaries for the senses! With over seven years of guiding experience across the enchanting regions of the French South but also of Paris, Normandy and the Loire Valley, I have honed my skills in providing immersive and unforgettable experiences to travelers from all corners of the globe. I am a Licensed guide and a graduate of the Sorbonne University and the Higher School of Fine Arts in Paris, with a Masters degree in Art History and Contemporary Art. Let's say, I "breathe art" and I pursue various artistic hobbies. My expertise in French history and art, garnered from guiding in iconic locations such as Versailles, the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, Normandy with D-Day landing beaches, Loire valley castles and many others, allows me to explain regional history within the larger context of France and art history. This provides a deeper understanding of the cultural tapestry that makes the French Riviera and Provence so unique. I hold a deep appreciation for French heritage and craftsmanship, actively fostering connections with local artisans and promoting sustainable practices rooted in historical traditions. Whether navigating picturesque routes with awe-inspiring viewpoints or unveiling hidden gems off the well-trodden trails, I am committed to ensuring your journey is not only informative but also visually breathtaking. As an avid art history enthusiast, I like bringing an extra layer of depth to your tours, weaving into the millennial history of France the life stories of such iconic artists as Monet, Cezanne, Renoir Picasso, Matisse and Chagall, who found inspiration in the captivating beauty of the Riviera and Provence. Considering communication to be the essence of successful journeys, I bring a wealth of cultural curiosity and multilingual fluency, cultivated through a life of global exploration. Bridging cultural gaps is not just a task but a wonderful experience, as I aim to infuse your adventure with positivity and an amiable persona. Every tour with me is a personalized, carefully curated and meticulously organized journey. Together, we will craft a tailor-made holiday that breathes life into your unique interests and passions, whether it's history, art, architecture, gastronomy, crafts, shopping, nature or simply unwinding on pristine beaches. I love the South of France so much because it is a perfect combination of stunning nature, authentic Provençal character and rich history with magnificent sights, delicious foods, glamorous feel and laid-back atmosphere, where we practice "the art of living" with passion and pride. Let's unlock the secrets of this mesmerizing region and create cherished memories together! Nestled amidst the stunning landscapes of Provence, the perched villages of Luberon offer a captivating journey through time, where ancient stone houses and narrow cobblestone streets cling to the cliffs above lush valleys. This scenic tour takes you through charming hilltop villages steeped in history, offering panoramic views of rolling vineyards, olive groves, and lavender fields. In Ménerbes, praised by Peter Mayle in One Year in Provence, discover the story of Picasso’s muse, Dora Maar and other artists. In Roussillon, rich ochre deposits paint the landscape in vibrant reds and yellows, giving the village its unique character. Lacoste, home to the infamous Marquis de Sade, hosts a vibrant artistic community, while Gordes is truly “the balcony of Provence.” Discover authentic Provençal culture, from local markets to traditional cuisine and Luberon wines, all while soaking in the breathtaking beauty of one of France's most iconic regions.
I’ll pick you up at your Marseille cruise terminal or any address in the region. First, we’ll visit MENERBES, a charming hilltop village with stunning views, local art galleries, and the Maison de la Truffe et du Vin to learn about truffles and wines. Next, we’ll head to LACOSTE to explore the historic Château de Lacoste, once owned by the Marquis de Sade, followed by a leisurely lunch with Luberon wines (wine tasting optional). After lunch, we’ll stop for photos at the LAVENDER FIELDS (June-August), then visit ROUSSILLION to admire its ochre cliffs and colourful streets. Finally, we’ll explore GORDES with its breathtaking views, cobbled streets, and the Château de Gordes, and, time permitting, the Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque.
