Hello Traveler, are you dreaming to discover the South of France? Look no further! I am Tanya, an experienced guide and art history enthusiast. Let me show you the regions I love most - Riviera and Provence, true sanctuaries for the senses! With over seven years of guiding experience across the enchanting regions of the French South but also of Paris, Normandy and the Loire Valley, I have honed my skills in providing immersive and unforgettable experiences to travelers from all corners of the globe. I am a Licensed guide and a graduate of the Sorbonne University and the Higher School of Fine Arts in Paris, with a Masters degree in Art History and Contemporary Art. Let's say, I "breathe art" and I pursue various artistic hobbies. My expertise in French history and art, garnered from guiding in iconic locations such as Versailles, the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, Normandy with D-Day landing beaches, Loire valley castles and many others, allows me to explain regional history within the larger context of France and art history. This provides a deeper understanding of the cultural tapestry that makes the French Riviera and Provence so unique. I hold a deep appreciation for French heritage and craftsmanship, actively fostering connections with local artisans and promoting sustainable practices rooted in historical traditions. Whether navigating picturesque routes with awe-inspiring viewpoints or unveiling hidden gems off the well-trodden trails, I am committed to ensuring your journey is not only informative but also visually breathtaking. As an avid art history enthusiast, I like bringing an extra layer of depth to your tours, weaving into the millennial history of France the life stories of such iconic artists as Monet, Cezanne, Renoir Picasso, Matisse and Chagall, who found inspiration in the captivating beauty of the Riviera and Provence. Considering communication to be the essence of successful journeys, I bring a wealth of cultural curiosity and multilingual fluency, cultivated through a life of global exploration. Bridging cultural gaps is not just a task but a wonderful experience, as I aim to infuse your adventure with positivity and an amiable persona. Every tour with me is a personalized, carefully curated and meticulously organized journey. Together, we will craft a tailor-made holiday that breathes life into your unique interests and passions, whether it's history, art, architecture, gastronomy, crafts, shopping, nature or simply unwinding on pristine beaches. I love the South of France so much because it is a perfect combination of stunning nature, authentic Provençal character and rich history with magnificent sights, delicious foods, glamorous feel and laid-back atmosphere, where we practice "the art of living" with passion and pride. Let's unlock the secrets of this mesmerizing region and create cherished memories together! Provence is a region with a very distinct local character. It's not just a place; it's a feeling! The scents of aromatic herbs wafting from the Provencal hills and lavender fields, the vibrant colors of the small typical villages surrounded by natural parks, the lively games of pétanque, the symphony of cicadas in summer, and the flavors of anchovies tapenade and olive oil crafted by local artisans… Provence definitely awakens the senses. It's more than a location; it's an art of living. The sun gets up twice in Provence: once in the morning, and the second time - after siesta. Locals, basking in the sunlight celebrated by Cézanne and Van Gogh, exude hospitality, a laid-back attitude, and a profound pride in conveying their Provencal roots. Let's tailor your unforgettable Provence tour (1 or several days) that can encompass historical towns, timeless villages, lavender fields, and other breathtaking natural sights, encounter with local people and artisans, Provencal markets, food and wine tastings, etc.
We spent 4 1/2 days with Tanya as our guide. Wonderful time, we miss her already
the day was so much fun and quite beautiful. Our guide was fun, and quite knowledgeable about the regions. our day flew by and before we knew it was time to return to the ship. i would highly recommend a day through Provence with Tanya
Tanya was a wonderful guide. She outlined three potential itineraries and helped us decide what best fit our interests. Tanya is unbelievably knowledgeable about the history, art, and culture of France and the Provence region. My wife and I truly enjoyed our day with Tanya and recommend her highly!
My wife and I spent two days with Tanya first going east out of Bandol to St. Tropez and points along the way and then going to Marseilles stopping at Cassis for a bonus wine tasting. Unfortunately, my wife severely sprained her ankle on our journey to Bandol which really limited her ability to walk, but Tanya adapted to our situation gracefully. Tanya's knowledge of France and Provence is encyclopedic and she is always upbeat and fun to be with. We saw many interesting sites but also learned the history and back stories along the way.
Tanya is an excellent tour guide. She picked us up at the airport on schedule and immediately made us feel welcomed. She had put together a driving tour along the coast to the city of Cassis ending with a boat ride out of the harbor and lunch at a very nice cafe. We ended the day in Aix at a lovely boutique hotel she recommended. Along the way we were given a brief history of France and Provence as well as a bit of art history. Tanya is not only very knowledgeable about France as would be expected, but also about Europe in general as she has travelled extensively. I highly recommend Tanya as a guide.
My friend and I had the wonderful pleasure of experiencing the Authentic Provence tour with Tanya. She customized our tour to the locations and timeframe we requested. Tanya picked us up at our hotel promptly at the specified time. We traveled to the Luberon region, the lavender fields, the beautiful countryside, Aix-en-Provence, a local bakery where we purchased our lunch, which we then enjoyed at a lovely picnic, and so much more. Tanya's knowledge of the region was just amazing, in addition to her wonderful personality. It was like spending a day with a long-time friend.
