Hello Traveler, are you dreaming to discover the South of France? Look no further! I am Tanya, an experienced guide and art history enthusiast. Let me show you the regions I love most - Riviera and Provence, true sanctuaries for the senses! With over seven years of guiding experience across the enchanting regions of the French South but also of Paris, Normandy and the Loire Valley, I have honed my skills in providing immersive and unforgettable experiences to travelers from all corners of the globe. I am a Licensed guide and a graduate of the Sorbonne University and the Higher School of Fine Arts in Paris, with a Masters degree in Art History and Contemporary Art. Let's say, I "breathe art" and I pursue various artistic hobbies. My expertise in French history and art, garnered from guiding in iconic locations such as Versailles, the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, Normandy with D-Day landing beaches, Loire valley castles and many others, allows me to explain regional history within the larger context of France and art history. This provides a deeper understanding of the cultural tapestry that makes the French Riviera and Provence so unique. I hold a deep appreciation for French heritage and craftsmanship, actively fostering connections with local artisans and promoting sustainable practices rooted in historical traditions. Whether navigating picturesque routes with awe-inspiring viewpoints or unveiling hidden gems off the well-trodden trails, I am committed to ensuring your journey is not only informative but also visually breathtaking. As an avid art history enthusiast, I like bringing an extra layer of depth to your tours, weaving into the millennial history of France the life stories of such iconic artists as Monet, Cezanne, Renoir Picasso, Matisse and Chagall, who found inspiration in the captivating beauty of the Riviera and Provence. Considering communication to be the essence of successful journeys, I bring a wealth of cultural curiosity and multilingual fluency, cultivated through a life of global exploration. Bridging cultural gaps is not just a task but a wonderful experience, as I aim to infuse your adventure with positivity and an amiable persona. Every tour with me is a personalized, carefully curated and meticulously organized journey. Together, we will craft a tailor-made holiday that breathes life into your unique interests and passions, whether it's history, art, architecture, gastronomy, crafts, shopping, nature or simply unwinding on pristine beaches. I love the South of France so much because it is a perfect combination of stunning nature, authentic Provençal character and rich history with magnificent sights, delicious foods, glamorous feel and laid-back atmosphere, where we practice "the art of living" with passion and pride. Let's unlock the secrets of this mesmerizing region and create cherished memories together! Let me take you on a classical yet essential itinerary for the introduction to Provencal spirit and "art of living". While Marseille stands as the capital of the Provence region, its true essence pulsates in Aix. Stroll with me in the steps of Paul Cézanne through its historical mediaeval district, the vibrant farmers market, boutiques with local specialties, private aristocratic mansions and thrilling Saint-Sauveur cathedral. The quaint fishing village of Cassis unfolds as a breathtaking panorama, especially from the vantage point of Cap Canaille in the Calanques National Park. You can choose to have lunch in the harbour or a picnic on a boat excursion, wine tasting is also an option. We will then drive through the historical districts of Marseille, undergoing a splendid revival in recent years. I'll guide you through the city's highlights, its old port, culminating in an unforgettable view from Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde Basilica or "Our Good Mother" as the locals call it.
I will pick you up at the location of your choice with a comfortable premium class car or minivan. We can start from Aix-en-Provence, Marseille or Toulon, but also in Cannes. A short drive to Aix-en-Provence city center Walking guided tour in Aix Old town with the City Hall, Provencal market and Saint-Saveur Cathedral Short Drive to Cassis with a stop at breathtaking Cap Canaille view point Tour the harbour of Cassis with lunch in a café or picnic on the boat with quick overview of Calanques National park (your choice) Scenic drive through historical part of Marseille, its Old port and final stop at the Notre-Dame de la Garde Drop off at the cruise terminal or your place of stay As an option, we can also concentrate just on Marseille and Aix-en-Provence for a more thorough historical tour with the visit of Paul Cezanne's studio. Also you can choose to visit only Marseille and Cassis or Aix-en-Provence and Cassis. Don't hesitate to contact me. In any case it will be a great day to live and remember!
