Bonjour ! Welcome to France. My name is Elisabeth. I am a French teacher and an official licensed guide, mother of twins that have been guiding with passion in English and Spanish for more than 15 years in France. You want to discover the joy offered by Provence's lifestyle ? Follow me. I was born in the Basque Country in the border between France and Spain. With a French mother and a Spanish father, I grew up with two cultures which explains why I have always been extremely interested in cultural differences. I graduated in foreign languages (Spanish and English) and was delighted to spend some time in Santa Barbara to teach French to American students. I then specialized in communication and media and worked in this field for many years. My passion for travelling and meeting new international people was so strong that I decided in my 30's to open a bed and breakfast in Paris and to go back to university to become a licensed tour guide in order to share with travelers from all over the world my passion for France and the "French art de vivre". As a professional guide, I always make sure my tours adapt to the style of the people I guide. I want you to live a unique experience by sharing with you my secret and favourite places in Provence. Provence has so much to offer: tasty food, wonderful monuments, incredible history, ancestral traditions and amazing creative people. . Overview of your Marseille tour

Join me to discover the oldest city in France : Marseille ! You will start the tour discovering the city's heart : the Vieux Port, a picturesque harbor with its traditional fishing boats and its daily morning fish market. Then we will pass trough the Opéra district, and go to the famous Cours Etiennes d'Orves, a very pleasant pedestrian area where you will find many bars, art galleries without forgetting the brand new market of artisans and producers specialized in Mediterranean gastronomy. You will keep on exploring the old town known as "le Panier": a vibrant multicultural district and an incredible historical place to wander around and admire the amazing artistic creativity of the area. You will enjoy walking in the narrow charming old streets and feel the unique vibes of the district. To finish you will admire the spectacular architecture of the MUCEM, a great museum dedicated to the Mediterranean culture and connected with a Fort.

Elisabeth was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, a bit theatrical, and curious about us. Her love of this city and its history is plainly sincere. We couldn't have had a better three-hour introduction to Marseille (and the Greeks who founded it, and the Mob that ran it, and the city leaders who advised the Nazis on which neighborhoods to bomb). We may have been a little hungry at the end of our long walk but had you given us a few inches of baguette and a cup of coffee, we would gladly have followed Elisabeth for another three hours.

We had a truly AWESOME tour of Marseille and we were literally shown the "BEST OF MARSEILLE" over 4 full hours. Elizabeth was very pleasant, told us the stories, history and background behind the places we walked to and learned about some of the customs and specialties which locals enjoyed (eg pastis and black vanilla ice cream) and their lifestyles. We really enjoyed this tour and saw lots. I highly recommend this tour. Her tour is a great way to see and learn about Marseille in a half day.
