I was born and grew up in Kent, United Kingdom. I am widely traveled and I have been living in Normandy for seventeen years, studying the history of this ancient historical region, both Medieval/Middle Age and WWII. With my Anglo/Norman roots, I am passionate about both these periods and take great personal delight in passing on much that I have learned to my guests and enjoy discussions and exchanging personal ideas. I have been told that I have a friendly nature and an enthusiastic manner, I am easy to understand as I am a Native English Speaker. I worked in all of these sectors throughout the summer season of 2017 on an almost daily basis. I have Lived in Le Mont St Michel for short periods and was privileged to attend Christmas mass in the Abbey with the Monks and Sisters and dined and conversed with them. During all this time I kept up my studies both off and on-site, picking up knowledge from personal stories of guests, including a D day veterans. I am a member of the Guild Of battlefield Guides and a registered Guide in France. My Local knowledge allows me to visit sites that are less well known by non locals. Overview of your Bayeux tour

Canadian 3rd division landed at Juno Beach, being a port area it was well defended. Bernieres saw the most casualties on d day, they advanced the furthest, heading for Carpiquet and outrunning the British on their flanks. meeting the 12th SS they were to have an ongoing personal war with these Hitler youth fanatics. With a tough reputation, the Canadians had many hard battles ahead, a protracted fight for Carpiquet. At the end of Goodwood they launched spring coinciding with Cobra in the west and as the Can 1st Army, linking up at the end of July with the 1st Polish armoured div they headed south in Totalize and Tractable under Guy Simmonds with some innovative manoeuvrers. They finished at Chambois to seal off the Falaise Pocket at the last Battle of Normandy. Assigned the north or left flank of the rapid advance to Germany, taking the port of Dieppe as a tribute to those in 1942 in operation Jubilee. With some fierce fighting in the Scheldt, clearing defences they allowed Antwerp to be a viable port

This was an excellent and emotional tour. Graham picked us up from our accommodations in Bayeux and provided us with a full day that covered all of the most important Canadian aspects of D-Day and the battle of Normandy. What really stood out was that Graham was able to tweak the tour to accommodate personal wishes as well. We have a family member who was wounded during the aftermath of Operation Spring, and we knew the location he was wounded in. Graham made a point of taking us to that location along with nearby memorials. Beyond that, Graham makes a point of taking care of his clients. He had great suggestions for food accommodations and even went to the extra effort of helping us rent a vehicle from a local company, completely separate from what we were paying him for. Without his help (and translation), we would have simply been stuck. 10/10 would recommend.

Graham is as amazing. My mother has mobility issues. No problem, he was prepared. We wanted a few extras, not a problem. My dad is hard of hearing. Not an issue. Graham was very knowledgeable and had many a great story for the drive between spots. Very well done!
