My name is Lilia Z. I am a 52-year-old economist, a project/program manager, and a guide with a big passion for history, architecture and cross-cultural studies. I also enjoy giving some cooking & baking classes plus doing some handicrafts. I really love to bake, to make tortes and other desserts, as well as to cook. My two big passions in the kitchen are gastronomy from the Western-Northern Region of Europe plus Italian cuisine. I like to mix styles and cuisines, different historical times, and cultures. I can also organize cooking / baking events at my personal kitchen for a small party of people. I started guiding back in my childhood, by participating in the Tallinn children guides' club. I became a professional guide near my 18th birthday, 32 years ago. After finishing my University degrees, I had still been doing some paid guiding besides my main occupations. Then for several years I had been a volunteer guide, also giving free-of-charge tours to my friends, to friends of my friends and acquaintances. I also can give tours in Estonian, as I am a local Estonian Baltic Russian. We have a very liberal economy and society: no general license is required for being a tour guide. I will not only bring you to the main attractions of Tallinn City Center, but also to the Western-Southern part of Tallinn, and out of the city to visit attractions in the beautiful municipalities of Harku and Lääne-Harju (which is not that common for typical tours near Tallinn at all). You will see an amazing territory where our land meets the Baltic Sea, including spectacular waterfalls, the Baltic Cliff, Suurupi Lighthouses and several nature trails. Other highlights include the Magic Schloss Fall with a nice English style park and the Land of Songs, the amazing Laulasmaa. I do both walking tours for groups up to six people and car tours for up to three. I believe to be that local tour guide who is willing to create your own kind of tour by taking into account your personal needs, wishes and requests. * About 35 years of experience in guiding in Tallinn and Estonia both as a paid guide and a volunteer guide. * Driver's license since 2007, B-category * Two University level diplomas from Tallinn Technical University: -5-year diploma of Economist (Management and Business Administration), an equivalent of Master's of Science Diploma. -McS diploma in Public Administration (2.5 years of studies) State Museums only allow guides with a license issued by the museum, so tho I'm not certified for most, I can make some comments in some, and in locally / privately owned museums. I'm not talking much when driving as it's not the best for traffic safety.

Let's explore the beauties of a town of Haapsalu, a small resort which locates about 100 km from Tallinn. That quite town of about 10 000 inhabitants is also called a resort paradise of West Estonia. Haapsalu is rich in picturesque landscapes and testimonies of the past. The Haapsalu Castle Ensemble, a main attraction of the town, is also called the most impressive ruins of Estonia
We'll begin our tour with a drive out of Port of Tallinn, heading south west. The journey by car will take about 90 min After arriving to Haapsalu we will visit 1) the ruins of Haapsalu Castle along with the Castle's museum 2) the Town Museum at the Town Hall 3) admire the St. John the Baptist church from the beginning of 16th century 4) if you are a fan of Astrid Lingren books and characters, we might visit Ilon Wikland's Wonderland. Ilon Wikland is the artist who has illustrated the greatest number of Lindgren's books. Next, the long walk at the famous seaside promenade, once called Chocolate Promenade, will bring us to the Haapsalu famous Kursaal It's time for lunch. Haapsalu has many nice restaurants and cafes to choose from. After the meal, we'll walk in the Old Town of Haapsalu.
