My name is Eva-Maria and I am passionate about Estonia and guiding. I have been working as a guide since I was in high school. I started as an assistant guide for cruise ship tourists and have been working as a tour guide for 20 years now. I love traveling and communicating with people from all different cultures. I can offer different tours in Tallinn: Old Town walking tours, city tours, round trips and also a Soviet Legacy tour where I show the remains of Soviet heritage in Tallinn. I have also tour options that are suitable for families with children with marzipan workshop or Viking Village visit to try archery and ax throwing. I can take you to and experience the nature and beautiful countryside of Estonia in Lahemaa National Park. Over the years I have developed some fantastic connections with my clients, such as the Canadian Embassy in Tallinn. We have a mutual appreciation of high professionalism and flexibility. The path will bring you to the Upper Town, known as Toompea. Here you can take a look at Alexander Nevsky Cathedral - the largest Orthodox church in the city, the Houses of Estonian Parliament and one of the oldest churches in Estonia the Dome Church.
Eva-Maria was an amazing tour guide. We had so much fun on our walking tour of Old Town Tallinn. The tour was rich in history as well as fun stories about the area. We enjoyed lots of fun facts, and we got to see the master artisans in olde town shops. If you are going to Tallinn, I really urge you to get a walking tour by Eva-Maria. I wish she was in every town!
We greatly enjoyed our recent tour of Medieval Tallinn with Eva-Maria. Her knowledge of the Old Town and its history is immense and the tour was expertly organized so as to cover as much ground as possible within the time allotted. Eva-Maria was an outstanding guide - our whole family agreed this was a highlight of our two weeks in Northern Europe. She mixed medieval legends, ghost stories, Estonian history, and tidbits about daily life (schools, food, family activities, etc.) in a way that captivated us. She related very well to my teens and was sensitive to mobility issues. At the end of the tour, she even negotiated our cab fare back to the cruise port so we wouldn't get scammed! I would go anywhere with her.
Eve Maria is an outstanding guide. She is not only knowledgeable about the history and the facts but also knows well local customs, human behavior, folklore and cultural specificities. She is smart, funny and down to earth. I was born and raised in Estonia (now USA) and enjoyed the tour just as much as my friends (Latin American living in USA) who were visiting for the first time. I highly recommend her tour and will definitely use her services in the future.
