Hello, and welcome to Tallinn! My name is Davide and I have been a private tour guide since 2006. My great interest in Baltic history and society made me start this profession; besides, I really enjoy showing Tallinn guests from all over the world how wonderful this city is. During my excursions, you will be introduced to all interesting aspects of Tallinn, and Estonia. This part of Europe is less known, but only because for many years the Iron Curtain has prevented visitors to easily access it. However, the area, and especially Tallinn, was one of the richest and most thriving cities in Northern Europe. In the past 15 years, also thanks to EU membership, tourism has increased, and you will have the opportunity to see one of the best preserved Hanseatic old towns. All my tours can be customized to accommodate your requests. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you want to have a great private tour!

Overview of your Tallinn tour

An interesting and entertaining way to discover the most beautiful places in Tallinn. You will be able to enjoy the medieval streets and buildings of the Old Town, and to get to know the most interesting places around the city center. Tallinn Old Town is a must-see, but having some extra time time to also view the most interesting spots in the Estonian capital, will give you the opportunity to have complete experience of the city. Tallinn is considered one of the beautiful cities in Norther Europe, its unique and well preserved Hanseatic old town brings the visitor magically back to the Middle Ages. By visiting the rest of the city you will also be able to see how the town changed during imperial Russian times, first Estonian independence, Soviet times, and modern times. I can customize this tour according to your requests.

Davide’s tour was incredibly informative and tailored to our requests. We did a walking tour in the upper and lower Old Town before lunch. This area is a visual delight and Davide was able to explain the layer upon layer of history there. He arranged a great gluten free lunch at the GF restaurant Kivi Paber Käärid (Rock Paper scissors) where my celiac wife and I both enjoyed our delicious meals. The afternoon tour was by car and Davide included sites which would be otherwise impossible to see by people on a cruise— Russian Czar Peter the Great’s summer palace and surrounding park, the more Russian speaking minority enclave of town, the Russian TV tower to broadcast the Tallinn water sports of the 1980 Olympics — the revamped facilities and marina for that, as well as the ruin of the medieval St Brigid’s Monastery which gives its Estonian name to the nearby river and area— Pirita. We also stopped by the outdoor concert venue which saw, in the late 1980s, the Estonians use their singing culture and longstanding every 5 year song festival (where as much as 1/4 of the entire national population attended) to protest Soviet occupation, contributing to their gaining independence. Davide’s tour was comprehensive and very enjoyable. We would absolutely repeat it if we had to do it over again.

Davide was a fantastic tour guide. His knowledge of Tallinn and the history of the region provide the background information to put what we were seeing in historical context. The tour was well paced and comprehensive. We could not have seen many of the sites without a guided tour. I highly recommend this tour with Davide!

We had a great tour experience with Davide. He picked us up right off our cruise ship which was very convenient. Davide was open and friendly with a wealth of information on the history of Tallinn and Estonia (both ancient and more near term with the Russian occupation). He was very happy to discuss the current state of the Estonia from the culture, to the economy to foreign affairs. We spent time strolling the beautiful upper and lower old cities as well as seeing the Peter the Great’s summer palace and gardens. We also drove through the newer parts of the city and the area constructed by the Soviets. Wonderful tour and a great guide. We highly recommend Davide.

Wish I could give it 10 stars!! Davide gave us the best tour of our trip thru the Baltic countries. He is so knowledgeable and accommodating. He made sure that we gained a real understanding of Estonia, its history, culture, and relationships with other Baltic countries and also with Russia. We toured both the top and lower old town, he suggested a great pub for a snack, and drove us thru other parts of the city and its beaches. I highly, highly recommend you take one of his tours.
