I'm a Shanghainese, and I have been working as a professional licensed guide in Shanghai since 2008. I'm a language lover, I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. I love being a guide because I am passionate about helping others and I am really proud of my own city and Chinese culture, art and history. In the process of communication with different people, I have a deep understanding of the various culture in the world. And I enjoy sharing those Chinese jokes with my clients, who would burst out laughing. My clients describe me as a caring and knowledgeable guide. I am able to indulge my love of learning while being rewarded for pleasure. So I have a deep study in Chinese history and its relationship with world history, which would help you understand Chinese history and the present situation of China in a new viewpoint. My service area is not just in Shanghai, I can accompany you on the trips to Suzhou, Hangzhou, water villages or other cities in China. I have the tour guide license from China's National Tourism Administration. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

The water village Zhujiajiao is surrounded with rivers and lakes. Human activity of 5000 years ago was found in this area. About 1700 years ago, villages and markets were set here. 500 years ago in the Ming dynasty, it became a quite busy town. So nowadays it remains the ancient street and historic building. Time seems to be stopped here. People who still live in the village will show you another type of life. Two classical gardens, a Buddhist temple and a Taoist temple, an ancient post office of the Qing Dynasty and an ancient pharmacy are waiting for your exploration. My favourite part is taking boatman-driven boat on the cana. A bunch of local souvenir shops can be found as well. Some shops sell one special local product: a dumpling called "Zongzi", it's made of steamed glutinous rice covered with red leaves. There is a beautiful but sad legend about the dumpling, do you want to know it? I have been reading lots of history books, so the best explanation of ancient life will be offered.
1. Take a boat on the canal for 30 min (optional) Boatman quant their boat manually, and each boat can carry 6 people. 2. Visit a classical garden built 100 years ago The garden is called "studying & farming", Mr Ma spent 15 years building it and lived there with his wife, 4 concubines and 3 daughters. 3. Visit a local buddhist temple and a Taoist temple You can express all of your wishes in the temples. 4. Try the local food with the view of the canal Feel free to contact me if you would like to customize this tour!
