Shanghai is acknowledged to be the epitome of modern China. For most people the very word 'Shanghai' provokes excitement, stimulates imagination and raises hopes. 'So it is Shanghai!' has been a usual exclamation by newcomers, both foreigners and the Chinese. This tour offers you the chance to know about the city history from a coastal fishing village to a metropolis, Chinese cultures including the Chinese gardening art and architecture, and local life. Liam did a great job taking us to many interesting places and a wonderful lunch selection. He was curious and made sure we were careful on steps etc. He knew a lot of interesting history. He knew less expensive souvenir store. We got caught behind several temporary barriers to allow dignitaries travel thru an area by the Bund for an expo which delayed the return of the rented vehicle. This cost us extra of our limited China cash ($50 usd equivalent) which was unfortunate.

I took a leap of faith booking this tour and couldn't be happier with my day in Shanghai. Liam wasn't only charming, but also highly knowledgable with fantastic English. I honestly couldn't have hoped for a better day! The car and driver was really helpful in order to maximise my day and I managed to see the oldest garden in China, a silk factory, a temple, the fashion district, the Bund and experienced a tea ceremony. I will definitely go back and book with Liam again. Any one would be lucky to have him!
Liam was an excellent guide! He was knowledgeable and delightful company. He planned and coordinated a comprehensive experience in Shanghai including the major highlights, a private afternoon tea tasting and a visit to a silk factory. Liam gave us a super tour! He is organized, enthusiastic, kind, fun and funny. He gave us some time to explore things but was also there whenever we needed him. I recommend hiring him.
Liam is high energy and knows his country's history very well. You will certainly get to see Shanghai and learn a lot about Chinese culture. His english is excellent and he weaves his stories with amusement and character. our only reason for not rating this 5 stars is that there were too many "stops" that were clearly designed to get us to buy stuff. so we would recommend removing these stops unless you wish to purchase these products
