> 08:00: Meet-up at your hotel. > 08:30-10:00: Wander alongside the Yongding Gate, Temple of Heaven, Bridge of Heaven and a time-honored business street. > 10:15-11:00: Walk towards to Tiananmen Square. Follow tree-lined avenues south of the Forbidden City, passing local parks where seniors practice tai chi. I will highlight how the axis connects the spiritual to the political. > 11:00-12:30: Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City South Gate. I will explain the axis’s role as a symbol of imperial power, with the palace at its core. > 12:30-13:30: Lunch break > 13:30-15:30: Walk along the wall and defense river. I will decode the symbolism of colors, numbers, and architecture. > 15:30-16:00: Climb up to the peak of Jingshan Park for a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of the axis, with the Forbidden City’s red rooftops stretching south and modern skyscrapers rising beyond. > 16:30-17:30: Walk north to Bell & Drum Towers, these iconic towers were the timekeeping center of imperial Beijing.
