(2Day) Grand & Grounded: a journey weaving through Old and New Beijing

Hi there, welcome to Molly’s channel! I’m Molly, your friend from China. I’ve been living in Beijing for nearly 20 years. This 3,000-year-old city holds a profound and intricate cultural charm that has always captivated me, and I’d love to share that same feeling with you. For almost 10 years, I worked as a product manager. It was a career that paid well, but as I gained more life experience, I realized I wanted to follow my true passions. I love traveling… I love history… I love discovering new things… and I love exchanging ideas with people from different cultures. That’s why, in 2024, while still working full-time, I earned my national English tour guide license. And in 2025, I officially transitioned to being a full-time English-speaking tour guide and a full-time travel product designer. My decade of experience as a product manager gave me strong skills in understanding user needs and designing experiences. On top of that, I’m also a passionate traveler myself. I’ve visited 16 countries and explored every single province of China, which allows me to truly understand your needs and challenges while traveling. Because of this background, I can confidently say that my tours and itineraries are 100% unique. Every tour is carefully designed in both content and delivery to be authentic and engaging. E.G., the Forbidden City you’ll see with me will never be the same as what you experience with anyone else^ ^ I believe that many travel destinations in our lives are “once-in-a-lifetime.” That’s why I don’t like rushed, checklist-style sightseeing. Instead, I want to accompany you in feeling the city, feeling its cultural roots and modern vitality, and in exploring the city, exploring its food, fun, and authentic local life. Although I became a full-time tour guide not too long, I hold double bachelor’s degrees in Communication and History. I’ve always loved reading history, and I enjoy weaving stories from China’s long past—whether brilliant, glorious, or absurd—into my tours, bringing them alive for you along the way.
