Hi there, welcome to Molly’s channel! I’m Molly, your friend from China. I’ve been living in Beijing for nearly 20 years. This 3,000-year-old city holds a profound and intricate cultural charm that has always captivated me, and I’d love to share that same feeling with you. For almost 10 years, I worked as a product manager. It was a career that paid well, but as I gained more life experience, I realized I wanted to follow my true passions. I love traveling… I love history… I love discovering new things… and I love exchanging ideas with people from different cultures. That’s why, in 2024, while still working full-time, I earned my national English tour guide license. And in 2025, I officially transitioned to being a full-time English-speaking tour guide and a full-time travel product designer. My decade of experience as a product manager gave me strong skills in understanding user needs and designing experiences. On top of that, I’m also a passionate traveler myself. I’ve visited 16 countries and explored every single province of China, which allows me to truly understand your needs and challenges while traveling. Because of this background, I can confidently say that my tours and itineraries are 100% unique. Every tour is carefully designed in both content and delivery to be authentic and engaging. E.G., the Forbidden City you’ll see with me will never be the same as what you experience with anyone else^ ^ I believe that many travel destinations in our lives are “once-in-a-lifetime.” That’s why I don’t like rushed, checklist-style sightseeing. Instead, I want to accompany you in feeling the city, feeling its cultural roots and modern vitality, and in exploring the city, exploring its food, fun, and authentic local life. Although I became a full-time tour guide not too long, I hold double bachelor’s degrees in Communication and History. I’ve always loved reading history, and I enjoy weaving stories from China’s long past—whether brilliant, glorious, or absurd—into my tours, bringing them alive for you along the way. Join me, let me be your insider in Beijing!

Overview of your Beijing tour

When you visit Beijing, you must experience the Hutongs! Beijing has two faces — one imperial and grand, but distant from daily life, and one civilian and lively, full of heart. After admiring the city's luxurious palaces, venture into the Hutongs to truly discover its down-to-earth side. With more than 1,000 Hutongs crisscrossing the city like capillaries, each alleyway tells its own story. They have witnessed the changes of society, history, and countless lives. Come with me! Uncover legendary tales, explore local religious traditions. Then taste local street food, unwind like a true Beijinger, and finally climb the Drum Tower for a panoramic view of the gray-tiled rooftops along the city’s central axis. A journey where tradition meets modern life.

We had a great time with Coco and Molly. They were extremely well prepared and knowledgeable. We toured the Hutong area and a Tao temple. We toured historic food streets and stopped for some truly excellent Chinese pastries. We climbed the magnificent Drum Tour and visited a pedestrian market street. Coco and Molly gracefully mixed education and fun activities. We would love to tour with them again.

We LOVED Molly and Coco! I booked a hutong walking tour with Molly and Coco for my kids (ages 4 and 8) and myself and we had the best time with them. These charming and fun ladies thought of everything--the entire tour was perfectly planned out so that we were able to enjoy lots of different sights, foods, and experiences without ever feeling rushed along. I loved that we were able to experience Beijing as insiders with Molly and Coco, like locals, they showed us the best spots and coolest things to do. They even planned out a scavenger hunt to keep the kids engaged, complete with little prizes! They took photos for us as we went along our tour and sent them to us the following day. I cannot say enough good things about these tour guides. If you are looking for knowledgable, professional tour guides with youthful energy that will show you a true insider's perspective of Beijing, look no further than Molly and Coco!

We arrived in Beijing with two teenage granddaughters a day ahead of a two week guided tour of China. We had free time on our “pre tour” day and wanted an authentic Beijing experience that was not included in our trip package. Molly & Coco’s 4 hour Hutong Walking Tour with tasting experiences seemed perfect. From start to finish, the “dynamic duo” of Molly & Coco exceeded all expectations! They accommodated our request for hotel pick-up and return. The organized and interesting tour included fun scratch-off cards revealing our next experience. Molly and Coco captivated young and old alike. Who knew they would also take photos and videos through our time together and send them to us afterwards??? As the “family photographer” it was nice to see me in photos of that tour! The videos were professionally edited into a single mp4 file capturing our fun experiences that were we’re able to share with other family members. What a pleasant and appreciated surprise! The food samplings (5-6) were all optional and, although not included in the tour price, extremely inexpensive. We needed to purchase a Chinese sanctioned power bank for our iPhones and they took us to a store in the Hutong where we were able to purchase one. Just when we thought our time with Molly & Coco could not get any better, they surprised each of us with extremely thoughtful gifts to serve as reminders of our time together. If you are visiting Beijing, book team Molly & Coco ASAP. Once the word gets out about how amazing these two women are, their availability will fill up

Molly and Coco customised the tour for us and picked us up from the airport. We landed early in the morning and it was so nice to be picked up by two very cheerful and enthusiastic ladies. A perfect start of this day. They delivered us to the hotel and after check in we went out for a coffee and some delicious noodles. Then it was time to see the hutongs, visit Prince Gong's Mansion (at our request), walk along the lake and taste more things (including the Beijing fermented soy bean drink which was not as bad as expected) and end at the drum and bell tower. We continued with their other tour: the Cyber Beijing, which would be the perfect end of our first day in Beijing. After the tour Coco and Molly sent us a lot of pictures and a movie that they made of our tour. I highly recommend booking a day with Molly and Coco. Thanks so much ladies.

I had an amazing experience on my recent tour in Beijing, thanks to Molly and Coco. They were incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful throughout the entire journey, sharing insights that really brought everything to life. What truly stood out was their genuine and warm nature—it didn’t feel like a typical tour at all, but more like exploring the city with friends. They went above and beyond to make the experience personal and memorable. I highly recommend Molly and Coco to anyone looking for a private tour in Beijing. You won’t be disappointed!

Your Beijing tour itinerary

- We'll meet at the South Gate of Hehua Market - Our journey begins with a scenic walk along the lake, where you'll enjoy beautiful views and hear the stories behind the surrounding architecture and landmarks. - Visit the most popular and local religious temple, feel the Chinese youth’s spiritual belief. - Take a rickshaw, catch the wind and deep into the uncrowded alleys.(optional) - Strolling down Yandai Xiejie (Tobacco Pipe Lane) — the oldest commercial street in Beijing. - Visit the Drum and Bell Towers, marking the northern end of Beijing’s Central Axis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. -Along the way, we’ll pass by plenty of street foods you’ve probably never heard of — authentic local favorites that real Beijingers eat, not the ones just made for tourists. The full experience lasts about 3.5-4 hours.
