Private Day to Mutianyu Great Wall and Huanghuacheng Great Wall Tour

Our tour today with Cathy was fantastic. She picked us up at the hotel and we headed off to the Great Wall, Mutianyu area.. On our way, she told us about the history of the great wall. Once we got there, no waiting in line for tickets, she already had the.. we toured the wall with Cathy telling us the history amd even fables about the great wall. Very thorough amd entertaining. She has extensive knowledge about the Wall and it's history. She made sure we got the best pictures of our family as well. After our tour of the first area, she pulled up the menu and ordered ahead our choices at a local garden restaurant. When we arrived, the locall specialities were just coming ourlt of the kitchen. The food was fabulous. Next, we went to the Huanghuacheng area of the Wall. There were very few people in the area. We got a private viewing of the beautiful wall and the lake. Cathy told us about the construction of the wall and more myths and stories about this area. She helped us get some great pictures of our family that we could never get without her. She was able to go at our pace and personalize the trip for us as well. We also had a great driver in a very comfortable, clean car. Our driver was Su. He was always ready when we needed him and pleasant all day. A perfect day at the Great Wall.

What a fabulous day with our awesome guide, Cathy. Cathy did an amazing job of making our visit to the Great Wall of China smooth and easy! She was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about the history of the Great Wall, festivals in China, and Chinese history/culture. She had so much to share that time really flew by on the way to the Great Wall. She was really an expert on Chinese history and had plenty of energy and enthusiasm about her work. We stopped at two places along the Great Wall, and the timing was truly perfect. There was almost no wait on our trip, and the first spot was almost empty - we got plenty of really amazing photos (thanks to Cathy) and the views were beautiful! Each time we needed to get back on the road, Cathy perfectly timed her communication with the driver, so we got to get back into the air-conditioned car ASAP. She made sure we had plenty of water and got all of our questions answered. There was a lot of room overall in the car, which made it comfortable and easy to relax. The second stop was definitely more popular, but we luckily had almost no wait on the way up using the chair lift. The slide down was a bit longer, but worth the experience! I would definitely recommend trying both. A big shout-out to the driver (Su), who made the best stop for a bao spot when we asked about breakfast! Imagine the bao version of a soup dumpling... it was amazing! He was also a super smooth driver, which I greatly appreciated as I often get carsick. Overall, we had such a great time on this tour with Cathy. Would definitely book with her again!

Cathy is THE BEST tour guide out there. For everyone looking for an educational tour, she is your woman. Through tours of two different portions of the Great Wall, she took our family along an extensive journey of ancient Chinese history, spectacles of culture, and wonderful views, and never once did we stop laughing ! Cathy she has a great sense of humor! We couldn’t imagine a better, more detailed, or more organized, tour! Throughout this tour, Cathy made us feel like family — showing us only the most local secret spots and details. Her knowledge is tangible and her enthusiasm is infectious. My only concern is that after spending time with Cathy, I had no desire to ever leave Beijing! Having finished the tour, what’s most memorable wasn’t the greatness nor the length of the Great Wall, but rather, the laughs and smiles Cathy was able to share with us. I recommend Cathy to anyone who is seeking an unforgettable Beijing experience!!!

Cathy is such a wonderful, knowledgeable, passionate guide! She knows so much about the historical background of all the places we went, we had a great conversation about Chinese history and culture! Superb Tour and Day!!!! Kathy was an amazing tour guide. She had immense knowledge that she shared with my group on the way to see the Great Wall - she shared a lot of history, explained the mythology behind the stories, and even included some jokes. She had a wealth of knowledge about Chinese history. The way she shared the history was very engaging which kept us focused all day. Never a dull moment. She was like a historian / history teacher. She had great recommendations and maintained a very friendly attitude the entire day. We had a beautiful time at the Great Wall (both stops), a wonderful local lunch of trout, green beans, and chicken, saw an awesome acrobatics show in Beijing, and she recommended a great place for Peking Duck. It was a top day for me- once in a lifetime experience.

Cathy Z is a great guide. This was a long day, with heavy traffic due to Golden Week, but Cathy and our driver remained calm and collected throughout. Our vehicle was large, clean, and comfortable. Cathy was eager to share details about our destinations and about Chinese history, making for a great trip.
