My name is Tony, a licensed English-speaking tour guide in Beijing. For the past 15 years, I have been dedicated to showing friends from all over the world this amazing city. In short, I am not just your tour guide—I am your local guide in Beijing, a storyteller of history, a navigation expert, a culinary explorer, and sometimes even a witty ‘human GPS’. Over the past 15 years, I have visited the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace countless times, recounted the stories of the Great Wall thousands of times, and helped thousands of visitors avoid tourist traps, find authentic Peking duck, and snap perfect photos without any passers-by in the frame. I know every hidden gem, every shortcut, and every interesting tidbit of Beijing’s history, culture and daily life. I speak fluent English and am well-versed in different cultural customs, bringing centuries of history to life in a lively, engaging and accessible way – no dry lectures, just entertaining and practical insights. I’ve seen it all: sudden downpours, lost passports, missed buses, and travelers who fall in love with pancake at first bite. Don’t worry—I always handle any challenge with ease, so you can simply relax and enjoy the journey. My job is simple: to ensure your trip to Beijing is smooth, safe, unforgettable and filled with laughter. Whether you wish to delve into history, seek out authentic local cuisine or capture stunning photographs, I can cater to your needs. So, sit back, relax, and let’s explore the real Beijing and China together—with knowledge, ease and plenty of fun!

I highly recommend booking this tour, but above all, the Summer Palace is truly a beautiful and relaxing place, renowned worldwide for its long history and breathtaking architecture! Join me for this wonderful 2-hour private walking tour and discover the stunning Summer Palace in Beijing. As the largest and most magnificent garden in Chinese history, centred around Wanshou Hill and Kunming Lake, it covers an area of approximately 4 square kilometres, with water covering three-quarters of the site. Blending the grandeur of the northern imperial style with the elegance of southern Chinese gardens, it is known as the ‘Museum of Imperial Gardens’. Put simply, the Summer Palace was the Qing Dynasty’s premier royal retirement resort and luxury private garden. It was where the Emperor and Empress Dowager would come to take it easy, unwind and enjoy some team-building when they didn’t feel like working.
- Pick-up from the hotel in the morning, then we will take the Beijing subway together, and reach at " xiyuan" station of line 4, then followed by a journey by underground to the Summer Palace, China’s largest imperial garden from the Qing Dynasty, and hailed as the ‘Museum of Imperial Gardens’. We will first explore the office area of the palace, then admire the beautiful Kunming Lake, with Wanshou Hill forming its backdrop and water covering three-quarters of the site. Next, we will experience the Long Corridor. The Hall of Fragrant Incense, the Seventeen-Arch Bridge, and the Stone Boat are among the most popular photo spots, perfect for sightseeing, photography, and learning about history. Afterwards, enjoy an entertaining tea ceremony performance before returning to the hotel.
