My name is Tony, a licensed English-speaking tour guide in Beijing. For the past 15 years, I have been dedicated to showing friends from all over the world this amazing city. In short, I am not just your tour guide—I am your local guide in Beijing, a storyteller of history, a navigation expert, a culinary explorer, and sometimes even a witty ‘human GPS’. Over the past 15 years, I have visited the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace countless times, recounted the stories of the Great Wall thousands of times, and helped thousands of visitors avoid tourist traps, find authentic Peking duck, and snap perfect photos without any passers-by in the frame. I know every hidden gem, every shortcut, and every interesting tidbit of Beijing’s history, culture and daily life. I speak fluent English and am well-versed in different cultural customs, bringing centuries of history to life in a lively, engaging and accessible way – no dry lectures, just entertaining and practical insights. I’ve seen it all: sudden downpours, lost passports, missed buses, and travelers who fall in love with pancake at first bite. Don’t worry—I always handle any challenge with ease, so you can simply relax and enjoy the journey. My job is simple: to ensure your trip to Beijing is smooth, safe, unforgettable and filled with laughter. Whether you wish to delve into history, seek out authentic local cuisine or capture stunning photographs, I can cater to your needs. So, sit back, relax, and let’s explore the real Beijing and China together—with knowledge, ease and plenty of fun!

Join me on this enjoyable and relaxed four-hour private walking tour to explore the imperial palaces of the Ming and Qing dynasties—now known as the Forbidden City, the largest surviving imperial palace complex in China—before heading to Jingshan Park. Located to the north of the Forbidden City, this park was once the imperial garden of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The park’s central peak is the highest point in the heart of Beijing; from the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Forbidden City and the old city. Next, visit the Bell and Drum Towers, situated at the northern end of Beijing’s central axis, which served as the timekeeping center of the ancient capital. With the Drum Tower at the front and the Bell Tower at the rear, these structures are simple yet imposing, bearing witness to the everyday life of old Beijing.
Meet at 8AM in the lobby of the Beijing Wangfujing Peace Hotel (address: 3 Jinyu Hutong, Dongcheng District Beijing). From there, it’s a seven-minute walk to the Forbidden City. With its imposing red walls and yellow tiles, and more than 9,000 palaces arranged in a staggered pattern, walking through the complex feels like stepping back in time to the Ming and Qing dynasties 800 years ago. Next, climb to the summit of Jingshan Park for a panoramic view of the entire Forbidden City—a truly unbeatable vantage point for photos. Afterward, take a bus to the Bell and Drum Towers, home to Old Beijing’s “giant alarm clock”! In ancient times, the entire city relied on the sounds of bells and drums to mark the hours. Afterward, you’re free to explore the nearby Nanluoguxiang snack street to sample delicious street food or enjoy an entertaining tea ceremony performance. Guests may then return to their hotels or continue with their own plans.
