Overview of your Valparaiso tour
Tour departs in San Antonio in order to reach Valparaiso and tour around historic districts of Concepcion and Alegre. Walking tour is a great activity to get in-depth experience of such a city. Main square Sotomayor and pier Prat are both within itinerary. From Valparaiso a short van ride is done to get Vina del Mar kind of Chilean Nice in the Pacific with lovely sandy beaches where a stop is done to take the most panoramic vistas of both Viña and Valparaiso. Stop in the fish market if open that day to get in touch with the local fish type and tradition. Stop to have midday lunch as close as from the ocean as possible. On the way out of Vina del Mar a last stop to admire a very ancient culture in Chile or Rapa Nui from Eastern island where a MOAI or stone sculpture is been placed since early fifties. Drive way back to San Antonio cruise port.

Juan met us at the cruise terminal in San Antionio. He kept in contact while we worked through some luggage collection delays. Then had a tour of Valparaiso and Vina del Mar before heading to Santiago. He was very knowledgable and talkative. There was a separate driver so easy to interact with him. Great way to transfer from cruise ship to hotel in Santiago.

So happy with Juan Carlos Gonzales escorting us around Valparaiso, Chile, with wine, and food experience after leaving our cruise with 9 hours to kill before flight. Not heard of ToursByLocals, but after hearing back from Juan within a short period of time, and reading comments from others, I signed up. Juan contacted us before leaving the ship and was waiting with a sign (if ship docked at another port he would have met us there). He took us to a personal restaurant with food to die for. Loved him.

Great tour. Picked up on time at San Antonio port. Van clean and comfortable. Juan Carlos is very professional and his english is great. Drive to Valparaiso area was interesting with Juan Carlos telling us interesting facts about the area and history. Had walking tour of area, and he was very good with one of our group of 8 who had some mobility issues. Great lunch spot. Stopped at beautiful winery in Casablanca on our way to hotel. Would highly recommend Juan Carlos for any tours of area.
