Hello Guests. . . . Thank you for taking the time to read my Bio. I have been in the tourism industry for my entire career. My previous life was with Canada's National Railroad, Via Rail Canada where I spent 35 years. I was responsible for Food and Beverage and sourcing new products to enhance our services. I am a Foodie. . . My wife and I love to travel and experience new adventures. . I have cruised the Greek Islands, have done several road trips to California, Arizona, Texas, the Carolinas, Florida etc. . . We have also travelled extensively in Europe. I love to golf, play pickel ball and just recently learnt to play the guitar, harmonica and the mandolin. I have soft spot old cars and truly enjoy a good scotch or bourbon, I would never pass up an oppurtunity to smoke a cigar!! I understand what travellers are looking for when visiting Halifax on a cruise ship, or staying longer in a hotel or B&B. I truly strive to provide you My Guest an opportunity to enjoy the food, culture, history and the beauty of our hidden gems of Halifax Nova Scotia. (New Scotland in Latin) Living in the area and have discovered little coves and trails that are lovely and quaint. I am a "local Guide" Your personalized tour to the famous Peggy's Cove Lighthouse and village and other great locations will not disappoint you. Please review the other tours I offer. I specialize in Private Tours, and do not mix in others on your tour as other guides / companies generally do I take you off the beaten path and away from large crowds and tour buses were you can enjoy the sights more freely and spend the time enjoying the vistas with your family and friends. You will have a chance to meet locals that love to share their stories and sample their food, from fantastic fish and chips to Lobster roll sandwiches, steamed fresh lobsters to Maple Syrup, fantastic local wines and micro brews as well. My vehicles are government inspected registered and insured. We have also added an audio system for clarity. . . I have just upgraded my vehicle to a 7 pax very comfy Honda Pilot Touring. If you require larger vehicles for families and friends I can arrange the following transportation vehicles: 14 pax, 24, and 48 depending on availability. Please book in advance as in peak season these vehicles are in high demand. Registered by the Utility Board of Nova Scotia, and the Province of Nova Scotia. 10 out of 10 !!! Book Karl...great person...great day...what more can we say....it was perfect.
Karl was an awesome tour guide, and I highly recommend him if you're visiting Halifax, Nova Scotia. He communicated with us before our arrival and was waiting at the port when our ship arrived. Despite the rainy weather, Karl made sure we had a wonderful time exploring Halifax and Peggy's Cove. We stopped at a charming roadside café for lunch, where we enjoyed delicious lobster rolls. Throughout the day, Karl was attentive to our needs, caring, knowledgeable, and informative. His friendly personality and local expertise made our tour truly memorable. If you're traveling to Halifax, I highly recommend choosing Karl as your tour guide!
What a great tour! I was a little skeptical because of the cost, but when you think about the cost of a cruise excursion per person, it is a similar cost. If you can share the cost with several people the cost will be less. Karl is a local-that meant he knew the environment. We had several "special requests"-like do you know a store that sells the Newfoundland Purity products? He did his best to help us. He knew just the best "local restaurant" to have my "bucket list" Peggy's Cove lobster-delicious. He was knowledgeable about his home and told wonderful stories. We all 3 give him high accolades and compliment this company for how well they communicate.
We were so lucky Karl had a last minute cancellation. He was highly recommended and made this day amazing! He was amazing and knowledgeable and this was my second time at the Titanic site, but I still gained more insight. He made our day so fun and exciting.
We had a great tour with Karl through Halifax, Peggy's Cove and the Titanic gravesite. Karl gave us a lot of information about the area and took us to a few places where others may not get to see. We could tell he enjoyed what he was doing and showing off the area. We stopped for lunch at Tuna Blue. The food there was outstanding, especially the seafood chowder. We would definitely recommend this tour with Karl as your guide.
The Famous Peggy's Cove. This tour features a drive from Halifax to Peggy's Cove and touring along the lighthouse trail away from mass tourist areas. You will be able to stop along the way for picture opportunities and stretch your legs. Enjoy the gorgeous views along St Margarets Bay. Visit local shops and get a feel for historical life in rural Nova Scotia. As we leave the downtown area the drive takes you along the Historic Waterfront where we will have a view of the Great Halifax Explosition of 1917 and the two bridges that join Halifax and our sister city of Dartmouth, on our way to Fairview Lawn cemetery the last resting place of the souls lost in the Titanic. We then follow the coast to Peggy's Cove village and Lighthouse, stopping along the way at several little fishing villages. You have aprox 1 hour to walk the village of Peggy's Cove There are several small restaurants along the way that serve local dishes, they specialize in fresh lobsters, fish and chips, lobster roll sandwiches.
