Bike and helmet rental are fully included in the tour price! With over 170 km of dedicated cycle paths, Vienna is a true cyclist’s paradise and exploring by bike is one of the most authentic ways to experience the city. It'll also allow us to cover much more ground than a standard walking tour while staying fully immersed in the city's atmosphere. On this 3-hour guided ride, we’ll cruise around the grand Ringstrasse boulevard, feeling transported back to the imperial era as I share stories of figures like Ludwig van Beethoven, Emperor Franz Joseph, and Gustav Klimt. We can effortlessly explore beyond the crowded footpaths all the way to the famous Prater park, a local favorite for over 200 years. All while learning about Viennese politics, urban planning, and WWII history and, of course, my personal insider tips for the best restaurants, museums, and local spots. It’s the ultimate way to see Vienna from the perspective of a local. In case of rain we’ll simply adapt it to a cozy Old Town walking tour.
Your Vienna tour itinerary
We begin our adventure at the centrally located bike center, where you will be provided with rental bicycles and helmets. After safety instructions, we’ll be ready to hit the road. • Ringstrasse: The grand boulevard encircling the old town. We’ll pass Vienna’s iconic landmarks, including the State Opera House, Parliament, and City Hall. • Hofburg Palace: Our route takes us to the former imperial residence of the Habsburg dynasty. • Museum Quarter: We cycle past the Museum of Art History and the Natural History Museum, two architectural gems with world-renowned collections. • Danube Canal: Ride along the picturesque Danube Canal, offering stunning views and a refreshing breeze. • Hundertwasser House: See the unique building designed by artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. • Prater and Giant Ferris Wheel: Finally, we ride to Vienna’s famous amusement park, where you can see the iconic Giant Ferris Wheel. We end our tour back at the bike rental center.
