Valerie Strassberg Vienna-Based Cultural Storyteller, Actor, Guide, Author of articles about Vienna, Trainer and member of the examination board for the qualification examination for the next generation of tourist guides. I regulary follow trainings at Vienna Guide Academy myself. I transform Vienna’s streets, palaces, and museums into living stories—where literature, music and art become part of your personal journey. As a BA in Theatre studies, a trained actor and comedian, and a family manager, I bring a unique blend of scholarly insight, theatrical charm, and warm hospitality to every experience. With roots in France and Austria, I embody the historical Bourbon-Habsburg legacy: a love for culture, a gift for languages, and an eye for the extraordinary. Fluent in German, French, English, Spanish, and Italian, I guide you through Vienna’s treasures in the language that resonates with you. Why explore with me? • Literary and artistic expertise: From the works of Schnitzler and Hofmannsthal to the masterpieces of Klimt and Schiele, I reveal the stories behind the art, music, and literature that shaped Vienna. • Exclusive access: I guide in all major collections and museums, including the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Albertina, Belvedere, Hofburg, and Schönbrunn Palace, offering insights that go beyond the guidebook. Note: Some museums, like the Hofburg’s Imperial Apartments or Schönbrunn’s Grand Tour, require early reservations—let’s plan ahead to secure your spot! • Theatrical storytelling: Every tour is a performance—whether we’re unraveling the secrets of the Habsburgs, tracing the footsteps of Mozart and Strauss, or exploring the vibrant world of Viennese modernism. • Dialogue-driven adventures: Your questions and passions shape our journey, turning a tour into a conversation with history. Inclusive, joyful atmosphere: As a family manager, I create experiences where everyone—from art lovers to history buffs, from seniors to children—feels inspired and welcome. What you can expect: • Multilingual tours: Engage with Vienna’s culture in German, French, English, Spanish, or Italian. • Curated cultural connections: Whether it’s a private tour of the Albertina’s graphic arts collection, a musical journey through the Haus der Musik, or a literary walk in the footsteps of Freud and Zweig, I tailor every experience to your interests. • Seamless logistics: As an independent guide, I handle all the details—including those all-important early reservations—so you can focus on the magic of the moment. Let’s craft your Viennese story together. For me, true luxury is in connection, discovery, and the joy of shared experiences. Whether you’re a family, a group of friends or a solo traveler or a company, I’ll design a journey that feels like it was written just for you. Ready? Let’s begin. NOTE: By law tour guides must be independent micro-entrepreneurs In Austria. I take pride in crafting bespoke journeys that reflect both my passion for my hometown and my professionalism. My company www.strassberg.at has been in existence since 20 years.

Overview of your Vienna tour

Where Mozart rocked, Strauss waltzed, and the Habsburgs dropped the Mic (and a Fortune on Opera) For centuries, Vienna wasn’t just a city—it was the original Spotify playlist of Europe. Mozart? Composed his first symphony here before he hit puberty. Beethoven? Moved here to drop musical truth bombs (and probably complain about the coffee). Strauss? Turned the entire city into one giant ballroom. Even the Habsburgs weren’t just ruling—they were singing, playing, and outbidding each other for the best seat at the opera. (Spoiler: They always won.) And the best part? The show never stopped. Today, Vienna’s streets still hum with the same tunes that made emperors weep and aristocrats dance until dawn. From hidden courtyards where Schubert scribbled melodies to the golden halls where divas hit notes so high, they could shatter chandeliers—this city is one giant concert waiting to happen. So, ready to hit the high notes? Join me as we sneak into the lives of music’s biggest rebels, geniuses, and drama queens.

Your Vienna tour itinerary

- We will meet at Herbert von Karajan Platz, next the monument for the composer Alban Berg. - From there, the route takes us firstly to the Hofburg. 🎻 The places where Beethoven wrote furiously (and possibly spilled coffee on his manuscripts. We all know how that goes). 💃 The ballrooms where Strauss' waltzes made everyone forget their manners. The church where wedding masses, requiems, Easter oratorios were performed and the celebrations of the emperors were held. - We then make our way to Michaeler Plat on to Kohlmarkt and we will head towards the iconic St. Stephen's Cathedral. 🎹 The tour ends at the Mozarthaus.Mozart's house (where he wrote The Magic Flute and probably burned the midnight oil—or candle.
