Discover one of the most beautiful baroque palaces of Austria and Central Europe. Commissioned by the military leader and art lover Prince Eugene of Savoy the Upper Belvedere was built between 1717 and 1723 for representation purposes. The Palace impresses both with its architecture, the surrounding garden, and its unique gallery of Austrian artists. I will show you masterpieces by Gustav Klimt (including his iconic painting "The Kiss"), Egon Schiele, and Oskar Kokoschka from the early 20th century as well as enchanting paintings from the 19th-century Biedermeier period. Together we will immerse in fascinating periods of Austrian art history. Works by Van Gogh, Munch and Monet complement the Austrian Gallery and provide an international context.
