Getting to know the former imperial city of Vienna and today's capital of Austria individually and personally tailored to you—this is my goal as your licensed guide and local expert in Vienna! My name is Martha. Although I was born in Upper Austria, I quickly discovered my love for Vienna. After graduating from university in Vienna, I knew I wanted to make this unique city my home. Vienna has it all: impressive and scenic squares, secret alleys, countless art collections in our museums, world-class music, beautiful architecture, and a rich cultural heritage. Before starting my career as a tour guide and running my one-woman agency in Vienna, I lived and worked in many other countries. The travel experiences I've gained from these wonderful journeys form the basis for my flexible and intuitive approach to individual tours. In 2009, I started my own business focusing on personalized tours and cultural programs for small groups, aiming to share what truly fascinates me about Vienna. This city offers an incredible quality of life, seamlessly blending the traditions of the past with the vibrancy of modern life. I believe that travel can be so much more than just a business trip or a sightseeing tour. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in Austrian culture, experience Vienna's past and present, and enjoy the city's unique art scenes and delightful experiences. As a local guide living in Vienna, it is important for me to engage in meaningful dialogue with my guests. I prioritize answering questions about the current situation in Austria and discussing contemporary issues affecting Vienna. By fostering this exchange, I aim to provide a more enriching and insightful experience for my visitors. I strive to stay informed about local developments and trends to ensure that I can offer accurate and up-to-date information. My goal is to create a welcoming and interactive environment where guests feel comfortable exploring and understanding the unique aspects of Vienna. I have been a licensed Austria Guide since 2001. I completed the extensive two-year course and passed the exam to become a licensed Austria Guide right away. Please note that I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle, or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. Please let me know in advance, if you want to book a car and driver in addition to my tours. I am very much looking forward to hearing from you!

Vienna's painting collections have a lot to offer and are among the most renowned in the world. This tour will take you to the exciting world of the famous collection of Austrian Art at the Belvedere Palace & Museum and to the Secession Museum. I love museums and especially the artworks from the Vienna 1900 time. The stars of the exhibition are Klimt's remarkable masterpiece "The Kiss" and his portraits of society ladies as well as his landscape paintings. Klimt was one of the revolutionary secessionist artists who also supported the younger Enfants terribles like Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka. Discovering their paintings and the life stories of the artists will give you an understanding of the turn of the century. The Belvedere Palace and its beautifully laid out gardens are an outstanding example of baroque architecture. Secondly, the Vienna Secession is an association of visual artists and the world's (!) oldest independent exhibition house.
My personal highlights include: • the Belvedere museum • the art history about art nouveau including Schiele and Klimt. • Nevertheless I am also happy to show you the Leopold Museum with the Schiele collection, as well as other Viennese museums on request. According to your personal wishes. I have planned a route for us that allows us to easily reach all these highlights on foot or, if desired, by car. • We will start at the Belvedere and after the exhibition there, along the way, admire Otto Wagner's pavilions at Karlsplatz, which were city railway stations at the time, before turning our attention to the Secession and Klimt's masterpiece The Beethoven Fries". In any case, I will always adapt the tour to your individual wishes and preferences. Personal recommendations for restaurants, my favourite coffee houses and other exciting discoveries will be given to you at the end of our tour. *The Secession is closed on Mondays, but the tour can still take place with an alternative museum. *
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
