Hi I’m Cara, I’ll be your local guide and host while you’re here in Western Australia. Tourism has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up working for my family’s international trekking business guiding travellers to incredible destinations and summits across the globe. With a collection of experiences and adventures under my belt I’m now privileged to own and operate my own tourism business right here in my own backyard from Perth in Western Australia. Of all the incredible places I’ve visited around the world, Western Australia is somewhere I’m incredibly proud to call home. From our rugged coastline and wide open landscapes to tiny country towns, ancient natural wonders and spectacular wildflowers, there’s always something new to discover — even for a local. My tours are small, personal and authentic. The experience is more like spending the day exploring with an old friend than being on a tour dictated by a timetable. We take our time, stop when something catches our eye and enjoy the little unexpected moments along the way. Overview of your Perth tour
History, heritage and the spiritual heart of the Western Australian Wheatbelt come alive when we arrive at the historic town of New Norcia. While New Norcia has strong religious ties, its appeal stretches far beyond faith. The town reflects a blend of European traditions, rich Aboriginal culture and a deep spiritual legacy. Founded in 1847 by Spanish monks, it’s the only living / working monastic town remaining in the Nation. Visit the 1850's Mission Cottage, home to the Indigenous Aboriginal Yued people. Step inside the well preserved Benedictine Abbey, visit the town Cemetery and the Rock of Remembrance. Admire the architecture of the New Norcia Hostel, monastery residence, St Ildephonsus College, and the Gothic Revival design of St Gertrude’s Boarding School. This tour is designed for travellers who like to venture out of the city and experience something unique, lunch is a home style, wholesome three course meal with a glass of wine in the dinning quarters of the historic New Norcia monastery.
