Hi there! I'm Paul - a 3rd generation born and bred Perth Local. I'm a wine, whiskey and food lover who is passionate about sharing the very best local experiences - so that you can see our City from a local's perspective, and get a taste of why Perth is such a great place to live, eat and drink. I've been running private tours here in Perth and the South West of Western Australia since 2017. I started my own business after working in an office for 20 years, and I decided to follow my passion for travel, food and discovery rather than being stuck behind a desk every day. Overview of your Perth tour
With almost 200 years of winemaking history under its belt, the Swan Valley is home to the oldest vines in Western Australia. With many stories to tell, many of the vineyards are now run by third or fourth generation winemakers continuing the legacy of their ancestors. The Swan Valley wine region features world-class boutique wineries, breweries, distilleries and countless gourmet food producers - all within a 32km loop, making it very easy to see all that the Swan Valley offers within a relaxed day tour. Although this region is generally well travelled by tourists, there are plenty of hidden gems to be discovered off the beaten path. I understand that everyone has different interests and has their own style of travel, and your exact itinerary for the day will be customised accordingly. This is a full day tour of 7.5 hours, with door-to-door pick up and drop off. Timing can be flexible if you need to be back for your ships departure.
Your Perth tour itinerary
As this is a private tour just for you, the itinerary can be tailored to suit your taste and interests. My suggested itinerary for this tour is; • Start the morning with a Scenic Drive through the historic Guildford town centre • Visit the oldest winery in Western Australia (WA) for wine tasting • Meet the owners at WA's 2nd oldest continually operating family winery and taste wines in their hand dug cellar (Note: closed Tuesdays) • Enjoy Lunch overlooking the vineyards at one of the 5 oldest wineries in Australia (own expense) • Finish the day with a wine tasting at WA's most awarded boutique winery on the property famously once owned by WA's first surveyor general. Take a look at the original homestead circa 1905 overlooking the upper reaches of the Swan River (open as an indigenous gallery on Thur-Sun) • Return back to the cruise port
