Hi there! I'm Paul - a 3rd generation born and bred Perth Local. I'm a wine, whiskey and food lover who is passionate about sharing the very best local experiences - so that you can see our City from a local's perspective, and get a taste of why Perth is such a great place to live, eat and drink. I've been running private tours here in Perth and the South West of Western Australia since 2017. I started my own business after working in an office for 20 years, and I decided to follow my passion for travel, food and discovery rather than being stuck behind a desk every day. After all, Perth has 300 days of sunshine a year - why not make the most of it? Overview of your Perth tour
The Margaret River region is one of the youngest wine regions in the world, making it something of a prodigy - achieving success, prestige and international acclaim at an early age, particularly for its Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. But in contrast, the highly revered soils in which its vines thrive are some of the most ancient on Earth. For wine lovers, you are spoilt for choice here. Meandering from cellar door to cellar door is an easy way to spend the day with vistas of farmland, wine country and the coast around every turn. This tour is fully guided, not simply a driver service, and I understand that everyone has different interests and has their own style of travel, and your exact itinerary for the day will be customised accordingly. This is a full day tour of 12 hours (covering approximately 600kms), with door-to-door pick up and drop off at your Perth accommodation. You'll arrive back in the City at approximately 7. 30pm, depending on traffic.
Your Perth tour itinerary
As this private tour is just for you, the itinerary can be tailored to suit your taste and interest (eg. swap a winery for a brewery, add more sightseeing, change lunch to a more casual option). My suggested itinerary for wine and food lovers is; • Depart Perth for the 3 hour journey south, stopping for a coffee break • Visit three highly acclaimed cellar doors for guided tastings, sampling some of the best wines of the region • Indulge in a three-course lunch overlooking the vineyards at the highly awarded Vasse Felix Winery Restaurant (select from an a la carte menu with two glasses of wine included) • Sample locally made gourmet products at a local providore • Finish the day with a stop in the town of Busselton to view the iconic Busselton Jetty • Begin our departure back to Perth, arriving back at your accommodation at approximately 7. 30pm Options available for wine and chocolate pairing, or to add cheese platters to your tastings.
