The Swan Valley, Perth Hills, Caversham Wildlife Park & Surrounds

The Swan Valley is one of my personal happy places as I have a number of close friends who work in the area and there's just so much to enjoy there. Its a region full of great characters and local produce. The beautiful Swan River is the glue which holds this tour together and is integral to the wine region. Some wonderful small batch wine makers, gin makers, artists and chefs work in the Swan Valley and they are all highly regarded locally. In addition to the Valley, the nearby Perth Hills (Darling Range) offer beautiful drives through fruit orchards, low to moderate level bush walks along winding creeks, river rapids and waterfalls in winter July/August - and wildflowers in spring (July - Oct) As a big fan of community, the environment and great food & wine, this is one of my favourite tours as I get to share some of my favourite places with you. Throughout this tour I also focus on historical settlement, the local aboriginal seasonal calendar, community and the Perth foothills landscape.

The Swan Valley is one of the closest wine regions to any city in the world. Barely a 25 minute drive from Perth city and about 45 minutes from Fremantle Port Harbour. ** Wineries. There are over 45 Wineries, large estates to small family vineyards, breweries, distilleries & cideries in the Swan Valley. The range of wine varietals is extensive with the exception being those that prefer a colder climate. ** (optional) Caversham Wildlife Park is an Australian animal park with a big family of all the famous Aussie animals you know and some rare and endangered species as well. If you are an animal lover this is for you. Feed Kangaroos, hold Koalas, take photos with Wombats, beautiful birds & reptiles. **Entry is not included in the tour price. **The Swan Valley also includes chocolatiers, nougat and honey businesses & fabulous restaurants. **The nearby Perth Hills showcase beautiful winding drives, city views & forest country.
