G’day! I’m Simon. A Melbourne local and enthusiastic professional tour guide. It would be my pleasure to show you around the city – and indeed the state – that I know and love. Victoria might be Australia’s second smallest state, but the diversity of culture and landscapes here is unmatched. From bustling cities to sleepy towns, ragged mountains to pristine beaches, arid interior to lush forests, it’s all here. And in our capital Melbourne, the huge array of sports, foods, theatres, galleries and gardens make it a delight to explore. It’s no wonder that we’re often called one of the world’s most liveable cities. After a career in sales followed by a 10-year stint in the education sector, I became a tour guide so I could help visitors to Australia enjoy it as much as I do. When not working, you’ll often find me checking out a new café, restaurant or winery, or walking in one of our many stunning National Parks. I have a small number of tours listed here, but can customise these or tailor something completely different to suit your individual needs. Melbourne has a wonderful tram network that I use when exploring the inner city. For tours to other areas or those preferring to be transported by car, I will hire a suitable vehicle. For solo travellers, I usually use my top-of-the-line Suzuki Vitara AWD which is ideal for trips to the Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges and the Great Ocean Road. I am an Accredited Professional Guide with Tour Guides Australia and am authorised by Safe Transport Victoria to carry passengers. I also hold a current first aid certificate and Working With Children Check and am comprehensively insured. Please browse my listed tours or send me a message. I will do everything I can to make your trip to Melbourne one you won’t forget.

To really encounter this beautiful city – to discover its layers, its culture, its history – you’ll need a local who knows and loves it. Join me on my all-inclusive walking tour so you can feel that this is a city you've begun to know. This is a five-hour walking tour around the heart of Melbourne, though tram rides and a one-hour river cruise will break up the walking so you don’t get too exhausted. Together we’ll experience the different views of Melbourne, including both a bird’s eye view from Melbourne Skydeck, up one of the city’s tallest buildings, and from a riverboat as we explore the waterway on which the city was founded, the Yarra River. We’ll wander the streets and laneways, and I’ll share with you the stories behind the city’s founding and growth. We’ll see famous sites, significant architecture, public art and more. By the end of this tour, you’ll be catching a tram like a local, know where to get a great coffee and you might have even started to understand our never-ending love of sport.
This tour has some flexibility, but will always include: • Me greeting you at your hotel or a convenient city location • Iconic landmarks of Federation Square, St Paul’s Cathedral and Flinders Street Station • A relaxing cruise the Yarra River • Melbourne Skydeck for a bird’s eye view across the city • The interior of State Library Victoria, including its famous dome and some of the significant items in its collection • The historic Coop’s Shot Tower • One or more tram rides We will also visit other locations, which vary depending on your interest and the day/time. Examples include: • Queen Victoria Market • Royal and Central Arcades • Lanes and alleys showcasing street art and local ‘greening’ projects • The ‘Paris end’ of Collins Street and Victorian architecture of nearby Spring Street • World Heritage listed Carlton Gardens and Royal Exhibition Building
