I was truly born and bred in Melbourne, and I proudly represent the third generation of my family to call Australia home. With over three decades of guiding and lecturing experience under my belt - including 18 years as a licensed guide in Australia and another decade as a guide in Israel and Egypt - I'm incredibly passionate about helping you explore the marvels of Melbourne. In our wonderfully multicultural city, I also take immense pride in my Jewish heritage. One of the highlights of my career was receiving the "Cultural Tour Guide of the Year" award from Luxury Travel magazine, a recognition of my dedication to providing exceptional tours. My educational journey includes a bachelor's degree from the University of Melbourne, a master's from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and tour guide and travel agent diplomas from Australia, Israel, and Egypt. However, at the core of my being, I'm fueled by curiosity and a genuine love for learning and having a blast along the way. I've been an active member of the Professional Tour Guides Association of Australia for more than 18 years, during which time I've had the privilege of leading groups of all sizes - from one-person tours to groups as large as 110. For 14 years, I've operated my own tour company with pride. Having guided all the main shore excursions offered in Melbourne, I can honestly say that it's just as enjoyable for me as it is for my clients. My fervor for my city and country runs deep, and I revel in showcasing what makes them great. For me, the essence of a great tour lies in its ability to be fun, fascinating, and to offer insights you can't easily find on your own. Whether your interests lean toward food, history, art, culture, nature, shore excursions, Jewish history, or a blend of these, I'm here to craft a personalized experience for you. My specialty lies in tailoring tours to align perfectly with your interests. Allow me to unveil the Melbourne that will ignite your inspiration. Discover Melbourne’s creative soul on a curated walk through its laneways, galleries, and architectural landmarks. This tour blends street art, contemporary design, and 19th-century arcades to show how artists interpret the city’s light, history, and diverse stories. Explore iconic murals in Hosier Lane, the textures and stencils of Centre Place, and the refined elegance of the Block and Royal Arcades. Visit selected museums and galleries in the Flinders Lane precinct and learn how local artists respond to cultural shifts, migration, activism, and the city’s evolving identity. Designed for visitors and locals who enjoy visual culture, thoughtful commentary, and relaxed photography, this tour offers a fresh way to see Melbourne—through the eyes of the artists who shape it.
Begin at Federation Square with an introduction to Melbourne’s artistic heritage and the architecture of ACMI and the Ian Potter Centre (NGV Australia). Walk to Flinders Lane to visit selected contemporary galleries showcasing local and Indigenous artists. Continue to Degraves Street and Campbell Arcade for Art Deco design, café culture, and quick photography stops. Explore Centre Place and Hosier Lane, focusing on mural styles, techniques, and the evolving street art community. Move along Collins Street to the Block and Royal Arcades for Victorian-era design and mosaic craftsmanship. Visit the Ian Potter museum of Australian art or the NGV International to explore major exhibitions and public sculpture. Conclude outside the chosen museum, with optional suggestions for further gallery visits or lunch.
