I love getting out and about in my city of Melbourne. I love classic cars - finding them, restoring them, driving them and sharing them. I love meeting people - from all walks of life. And I love the prospect of creating individual tour and travel experiences that combine all of these things! Having travelled a good deal overseas, nationally, interstate and regionally I have come to appreciate the difference that local knowledge and a unique perspective via private touring can give to a holiday or celebration experience - and I have been developing my skills as an operator now for several years . . . changing hats from being a customer to becoming a host. :) By way of background, I strive to enjoy a world full of meaning, value, joy, humour and richness through the things I do and the people I spend time with . . . and this goes to being in the outdoors; enjoying a good meal and nice wine (also whisky after hours); discussing the ways (good and bad) of the world; staring up at the sky or out at the ocean; hanging about with my family, friends and neighbours; or simply reading the newspaper or a decent book. And, of course, finding a little time each week to have a wrench in my hand! My aim is to provide interesting, unique, relaxed (cruise), fun and informative experiences for my guests. My husband and I had a wonderful tour of Melbourne and the surrounding area with John. He gave us a locals view of the city and took us to some beautiful out of the way spots. As soon as he heard my husband was an F1 fan he added a drive by of the paddock and grand stand area. It was the highlight of the day! Thank you John for a memorable day!
We were in Melbourne on a cruise. John is a wonderful host to introduce you to this fabulous city. The car is as comfortable as it is beautiful. Highly recommend this tour.
The car is beautiful and a real eye-catcher. John is also a very nice, friendly man. It was a very nice way to acclimate to Melbourne and some of the highlights. We were hoping for a bit more history and background stories related to points of interest though.
This was an exceptional tour of Melbourne, and it wasn't the vintage car that made it special. It was John, the owner/driver/ guide. John is a knowledgeable, dry-witted, and extremely likable guy. He is a semi-retired graphic artist, passionate about vintage cars, people, and his adopted city of Melbourne. We asked him to skip the monuments and give us an honest flavor of Melbourne, and four of us (traveling comfortably in this magnificent 56 Chevy) could not have done better. Don't miss this!
