Macedon Ranges Full Day Tour by Private Car

Notably cooler than nearby Melbourne during summer, beautiful autumn foliage during fall, fireside warmth in winter and gardens packed with colour in spring, there’s plenty to enjoy anytime of the year in the Macedon Ranges. If it’s wine you like, there are some 30 cellar doors around the region, Australia’s coolest mainland winegrowing area, producing some wonderful tipples. If it’s art you like, you’ll find no shortage of creatives with galleries, open studios and exhibitions. It’s here that the rich and famous of Melbourne during its ‘Marvelous’ era of the 1870s and ’80s had their summer houses and weekend retreats, and the gardens they built remain a feature of the area today with many open to the public. And the stunning geology left by ancient volcanoes provides the ideal landscape for scenic drives, walks and views. No visit to the region is complete without at least driving by (but preferably, walking up) Hanging Rock, for splendid views and abundant wildlife. It’s the perfect city escape.

Meals, wine tastings, any extra garden visits (that incur a cost) or purchases are additional expenses that can be covered directly on the day.
