Hi I'm Nicolas. I was born in Ushuaia in 1985 and I grew up exploring with my family and friends the wonderful nature of this area in every possible way: hiking, climbing, skiing, sailing, kayaking, camping, etc. I also have been guiding since I'm 17 years old. This is about the same time when I started my guiding studies in the local university (Universidad de Tierra del Fuego). I chose the outdoors guiding as my profession because it is a great pleasure and a real passion for me to be the link between the nature and our visitors. Help others through my knowledge and experience to find themselves closer to the forest, the sea or the mountains is my goal every time I go to work. Departing from your hotel or ship enjoy understanding the origins of Ushuaia and its present while heading towards Tierra del Fuego National Park. Once in the park you will visit the main attractions: Zaratiegui Bay with the End of the World Post Office, Acigami Lake (also called Roca), and Lapataia Bay (location of the southernmost tip of the panamerican highway). During the visit to the park you will have the chance to take some easy walks to get closer to the nature of the area. While visiting the park you will be able to get a good understanding of the biology, geology and natural history of the area. On the way back from the park you will get the chance to take some very nice pictures of the city when stopping on some great viewpoints. This tour can be combined with a tour on the Train at the End of the World. This historical train was inspired by a train used by the prisoners of a Penal Colony funded in Ushuaia in the late 1800's. Nowadays this is a nice relaxed way to enter or exit the park.
We had an absolutely wonderful day with Nicolas on our Tierra Del Fuego and Ushuaia tour. He is very personable and extremely knowledgeable about his lifelong home. It was a very interesting tour, learning about the region in general and the beautiful park in particular. His passion for nature and enthusiasm for his job made for a really fantastic day. We had such an enjoyable tour of Ushuaia and the Tierra del Fuego Park with Nicolas. Our arrival was delayed but Nicolas was very flexible to change the time for us. He was very knowledgable and passionate about the history and nature of his homeland. We appreciated him showing us on the map the area that we were visiting and explaining the history of that area. He guided us through the forest and also prepared us an afternoon snack by the lake! By the end of the tour, we felt as if we had a new friend for life! Nico guided our group of four on a day exploring Tierra del Fuego park and Ushuaia. It was a wonderful day and Nico is an enthusiastic and personable guide. Park is beautiful and nice to have the highlights curated for us. Nico is very knowledgeable in general but especially in the flora and fauna of the area. He explained the history of Ushuaia and we toured the area of the former penal colony. At our request, he dropped us in an area for some shopping. Great experience and highly recommend Nico.
