Birdwatching in Tierra del Fuego Park

We visited Ushuaia as a cruise ship port. We hired Gaston to take us to Tierra Del Fuego. We are a group of 9 ranging in age from 16 to 87. Gaston and our driver Fernando were terrific. They met us as expected in a large van which was very comfortable for our group of 9. We saw scenery and birds (some of our group are avid bird watchers), and Gaston accommodated everyone easily. His English is terrific and his bird knowledge is also wonderful. He met and exceeded all of our expectations. If we ever find ourselves in Ushuaia again, we would definitely look for Gaston!

If you are bird watcher or enjoy bird photography, Gaston will not let you done. He knows the local region well and will do his best to find your lifer. I am taking second tour with him given awesome experience. Great personality and comfortable SUV.

We had an excellent time with Gaston! Since we had covered a lot of Tierra del Fuego NP the previous day, Gaston took us to several locations around Ushuaia to cover some of the species we had missed the previous day! It was fairly windy, but he took us to areas that were protected from the wind, which was great! He was very flexible during the day, as conditions changed. He was very knowledgeable about the birds of the area! His English is excellent. We had a great time!

I loved this birding tour. Gaston was a great guide and was able to find many birds that I really wanted to see. We spent time with each bird, and he had a good spotting scope to view the birds and I was also able to photograph them. Most importantly, he was very respectful of the birds and their habitat. I can tell that he really cares about nature and the ecology of the area. Thank you Gaston!

This is our second time in Ushuaia and we have toured with him both times. Gaston’s ability to see, hear, and identify birds is amazing. He took us to several places and was able to find many of the birds we were hoping for including the Magellanic Woodpecker and the Pygmy Owl. We look forward to our next trip to Ushuaia and birding with him again.
