Welcome to the end of the world! Hi everyone. I am an experienced professional tour guide in Ushuaia. I have been guiding as a full time job for more than 15 years since I graduated from University and I moved to live here. Just THE Best! I spent 3 days with Gaston and each day was special. Gaston understood immediately what I was looking for regarding hikes and sights and with his vast knowledge of local flora and fauna, he made each day magical. We had great conversations and I felt like spending the days with a friend, instead a paid guide. I highly recommend Gaston as a guide. I look forward to seeing him again when I return to Ushuaia.
Gaston gave an excellent 4.5hr tour of Tierra del Fuego for 4 of us. He promptly picked us up from Ushuaia cruise port and wirh a comfortable van drove us to the park. He was very aware of cruise ship buses and made sure we arrived before the buses,which made for an enjoyable crowd free experience at all the stops. His english and knowledge of the park and area were excellent, including wild life and fauna. Communication prior to the trip was easy and efficient and allowed us to change the start time due to the ship schedule change due to weather.We would 100% recommend Gaston and toursbylocals.

What a wonderful afternoon we had with Gaston touring the Tierra del Fuego National Park. Gaston was able to pick us up in his very nice, clean vehicle directly at the end of our gangway. He took wonderful care of us throughout the afternoon, always opening and closing the doors and getting us as close as possible to the beautiful views. Just as an FYI....Gaston is a wonderful birder, so if this is an interest you have, by all means book with him. Thank you Gaston for showing us a great time.
Gaston very knowledgeable of Ushuaia and the surrounding region. I strongly recommend any of tours for someone who has limited amount of time and wants to see and learn as much as possible.
We had an excellent day of dramatic mountain and lake scenery with Gaston. Our ship changed our schedule requiring us to depart 2 hours earlier than planned. Non the less, Gaston was able to give a complete tour and got us back to the ship with time to spare. We enjoyed the mate tea and local cheese bread as well!
- We depart the hotel/port and we drive towards the winter sport centers area, which is only half an hour from down town, during this we stop in Carbajal Valley where we have a magnificent view of the wetlands called Peat bogs, and a few small glaciers, which survive from the last Glaciation period. - In one of these sport centers we will see husky dogs, where they are breeded for recreational purposes, and where are raced in events known as dog sled races in winter time. - After this stop we continue north to reach Garibaldi pass, here I would like to invite you to walk for a while and enjoy a unique view of lakes Escondido and Fagnano, we will be in the higher altitude of our tour. - After enjoying the view we get on the vehicle to visit Escondido and Fagnano lakes - Back to the hotel/port The itinerary can be customized according to your preferences and interests.
