Hi! I'm Barbara and I've been working as a Professional tour guide in Ushuaia since 2002. Ever since I was a teenager I wanted to be a tour guide. I love meeting new people and being able to share part of my culture and history. I studied in Buenos Aires and graduated as a Tour guide in the year 2000. After doing a master's degree in Spain I came back to Argentina and decided I didn't want to live in a big city anymore. So I chose Ushuaia as my new home, and moved here in 2002. I soon started working for a local company and after a few years I was hired to work as a trip leader taking American groups to Antarctica and Patagonia. I met my husband in Ushuaia, and we now have two little girls who share our passion for nature. Working as a tour guide is a rewarding and fulfilling experience. I'm very passionate about my country, and love to talk about anything passengers are interested in. I'm very friendly and knowledgeable about my city, our traditions and history and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you. As every person is different and has different interests, I'm more than willing to organize the kind of tour you need, so don't hesitate and ask! Ushuaia is known as the city at the End of the world and it holds one of the most beautiful national parks of Patagonia. These pristine area combines mountains, forest, rivers, lakes and the famous Beagle channel which was first discovered by a British expedition in the 1800s. The coast of the Beagle was inhabited by a group of natives who hunted sea lions and gathered mussels to survive in very hard conditions. During our tour you will not only enjoy great views but also learn about our incredible history full of stories of natives, explorers and much more! One of the things I find most enjoyable of this area is the silence and peaceful atmosphere. and is definitely one of my favorite areas to visit. I'm looking forward to sharing It with you, I'm sure you will love it too!
Barbara did a superb job showing us the highlights of Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego National Park. She shared all the pertinent information about each stop on the tour. Also, she happily accommodated a couple of special requests from our group. Barbara's English was impeccable and she was a pleasure to chat with. We really enjoyed our tour to the end of the world with Barbara, she was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and fun. The picnic break we took at the lake was a bonus and we really enjoyed the treats Barbara made for us. All the food and drinks were from local products. Barbara provided us with a remarkable tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park and the city of Ushuaia. During the planning stage she was open to our special requests and did incorporate them into our tour. She provided an interesting, meaningful commentary. She was open to questions. She was delightful. I highly recommend her.
