Guide #35687
I was leaning my craft from a very early age actively exploring local cliffs, bays, beaches, forests, glens and islands on offer nearby with my parents and younger siblings. Teenage years were spent doing the same with friends' and then venturing out onto the water, learning to surf and joining local sub aqua and sailing clubs; doing anything to get out into the elements. This keen interest in nature then resulted in studying Environmental Science, further developing my understanding of my amazing area's geology and landscape formation that I am a part of. Previous work history includes being a Wildlife Warden, a Ranger and a Visitor Experience Guide at both the Giant's Causeway and Carrick a Rede Rope Bridge. Add to this, years of experience volunteering with the R. N. L. I. as an Inshore Lifeboat Helmsman and a member of Ballycastle's Coastguard Search and Cliff Rescue Team. I have a love and passion for the Causeway Coast and Glens so I enrolled in a tour guiding course, bought a lovely luxurious vehicle, created a brand and have never looked back since. My tour business was set up to showcase to the rest of the world how beautiful our coastline is by going off the beaten-path to avoid the more crowded tourism hotspots. But, when Game of Thrones Season 6 was in the making, I had the good fortune of being selected to be a stand in actor on three episodes for the major characters of 'Hodor' and 'The Mountain', on 'Oathbreaker' and 'The Winds of Winter'. Visitors on my tours will hear the copious amounts of behind-the-scenes stories from my personal experience with the cast and crew. My House Stark XXXL member was a much loved character and I was involved in the actual scenes that led to his tragic and extremely sad end in 'The Door'. As a huge fan of the HBO Hit Series, I then developed my own specialist Game of Thrones Private Tour so he can bring fans to the actual locations and spots where the iconic cast and talented crew worked to create the masterpiece which has enchanted people around the globe. This tour allows visitors to immerse themselves in the stunning places which have made Northern Ireland the ideal filming location. More recently I featured on How To Train Your Dragon as a Viking sailor and warrior. During the tour your very own 'giant' will tell many behind the scenes stories and anecdotes from these shows and will bring you to places which can't be reached on large coach tours. Ballycastle is at the heart of the many filming locations. I have the valuable content for his tours which has seen visitors rate them 100% of reviews as five stars, scoring 'Excellent' on TripAdvisor and this is something I am extremely proud of. It's the authentic experiences that enables me to bring private small groups of dedicated Game of Thrones fans to see and stand on the exact locations which most visitors do not get to reach. I take many people on my tours as I am considered the go-to Game of Thrones tour guide by Tourism Northern Ireland to show off the area to journalists, bloggers and film crews who visit from around the world traveling to the real-world Westeros specifically to immerse themselves in this captivating experience which they then share with their audiences globally. Not only that but I also get to meet incredible Game of Thrones professional fans where I get to learn and share stories and information, but never spoilers! This is a must for any Game of Thrones® fans' bucket list so make sure and tick it off. Not only can you 'hang out with Hodor', but you will also have the chance to explore the North Coast of the north of Ireland with a local man who is passionate about his place. Flip was so patient, kind, knowledgeable and flexible. We needed a unique tour so that we could find a special place. He was amazing and we found the exact spot we were looking for. I would recommend Flip to anyone who wants to learn about Belfast and Northern Ireland with an expert and incredibly hospitable host.
Flip is so much fun, he kept us entertained for the entire tour. He took us to my sister in laws‘ family castle -Dun Luce-and we had as much time as we wanted with lots of explanations about the hand off between successive occupiers. He took us to a great pub-best fish a chips, chowder, onion rings. We saw the glens of antrum, causeway coast titanic museum. He did...

I’m delighted to read your review Carolyn. We had such a good day and especially with a VIP on board! The Rope Bridge Bar fed us well after all the fresh air and thankfully, from memory, even the weather behaved. Thanks for coming to explore with me. I hope that the memories of our short time last into the future. Flip
Our tour couldn't have gone any better. Not only did we see all of the spectacular sites we planned on seeing but Flip also set us up on where to go over the next few days. A trip for a lifetime we will never forget:)

Awww Tom I was happy to help out. I know that your trip doesn’t end with our farewells. I’m delighted to hear that everything went well. Hopefully you’ll return and we can continue our conversations as we experience more of the stunning landscapes here. Thanks for taking the time to write your review. It is very much appreciated. Flip
Flip and this tour were absolutely amazing. We could not have asked for a better way to spend our day in Northern Ireland. We were very loose with what we wanted to see and do and Flip was easily able to adapt and tailor to our desires. He completely adjusted to our pace and overall expectations and gave us unique experiences that created amazing memories. He didn't...

Hey Jennifer Thanks so very much for your review and recommendation. I am beaming with pride smiling with the score you gave me. I am just so pleased that you got the best out of our short time together. A jewellery piece from the artisans at Stevenson’s is ‘timeless’ yet will hopefully remind you of your ‘time’ here. It is always important to get off the beaten track...
