Hello, my name is Shanty and I've been a certified guide for 5 years. I work primarily in archaeological sites in the region where I live, although I also enjoy outdoor activities as I love nature and all the richness of this place. I come from foreign parents who arrived in Mexico more than 40 years ago. I was born and raised here, specifically in a town called Bacalar, which is very close to the port of Costa Maya. I love gastronomy and believe that my region's cuisine is some of the best in the country. Although my academic studies have been in the arts, I have always had a passion for history and the roots of our culture, and I discovered that being a guide also fills me with great satisfaction. It is a job I do with great pleasure. I am very proud of the place where I live, and sharing the richness of my country is always very special to me. I really enjoy all the stories and experiences my clients share with me, and it makes me very happy to be able to share how wonderful it is to live in this region. I'm so grateful to see that as time goes on, more and more people are interested in the riches of Mexico and its surrounding areas.
