While those cities are undeniably beautiful, they are often crowded with tourists. For travelers seeking a more authentic and relaxed experience, Nagoya is truly a hidden gem. With its rich samurai history, unique local food culture, and traditional craftsmanship with over 400 years of history, Nagoya offers visitors the opportunity to experience a more genuine side of Japan without overwhelming crowds. During my 14 years living abroad, I was deeply supported by the kindness and helpfulness of local people in every country where I lived. Without their warmth, my life overseas would not have been the same. Now that I have returned to my hometown of Nagoya, I feel it is my turn to give back some of the kindness and hospitality I once received from others around the world.
