Hello and welcome to Japan! My name is Yuko and I was born in Osaka, but I lived in a number of different places throughout the years. I resided in Tokyo as a youngster, and then I went abroad for over a decade, living in Los Angles, USA and later in New Zeland. I currently live in Nagoya, but I often visit my hometown of Osaka and nearby Kyoto for work and for fun. I love travelling and learning about the places I visit, as well as meeting new people through delivering tours in Japan, my native land. I’ve been guiding foreign visitors to Japan for a couple of years, as well as Japanese people who come to Nagoya. My goal as a guide is to have my visitors discover things they never knew about Japan, especially about local culture, and to make wonderful memories during our time together. I'd love to show you the heart of Japan, and since I am also a professional piano player, I would be glad to take you to an amazing music club if you're a jazz or pop music enthusiast!

On this tour, my goal is for you to be able to enjoy and experience both sides of Nagoya culture: the old and the modern one. That's why we'll visit Osu Kannon, a famous Buddhist temple in central Nagoya, surrounded by interesting little shrines, and we'll also explore the Osu shopping district which has over 1,300 shops. On this district, you can find anything from electronics to vintage clothing as well as a huge variety of global cuisine. If you're really into shopping, we could even make some time to enter Oasis 21, a huge spaceship-like mall that has become one of the city's emblems. But the undisputed symbol of Nagoya is definitely the Chubu Mirai Tower, and I could take you to its very top for panoramic city views. This tour is customizable, so if you'd like to request any variation or changes, such as to include a stop for lunch, please send me a message before booking! I'd be happy to suggest some amazing places where you could find the best of Nagoya's local cuisine.
-Once we've gathered in an agreed spot, we'll first go towards Osu Kannon Temple. -After visiting Osu Kannon, we'll see some other small, historical temples and shrines in the area. -We'll then dive into the Osu Shopping District, where I'll take you to a couple of culinary venues which I know very well, where you could buy all kinds of traditional foods such as Mitarashi dango, Kushikasu, Takoyaki or Taiyaki, and even some local souvenirs. -Afterwards, we'll enter Downtown Nagoya and walk through the charming Hisaya Odori Park. -Next, you could opt to go to the top of the Chubu Mirai Tower to enjoy the view of the city together! -Finally, we'd wrap up the tour by passing by Oasis 21, another shopping centre famously shaped like a spaceship. -At last, I could leave you on your own devices for further exploration or accompany you back to where we met.
