Hello and welcome to Japan! My name is Yuko and I was born in Osaka, but I lived in a number of different places throughout the years. I resided in Tokyo as a youngster, and then I went abroad for over a decade, living in Los Angles, USA and later in New Zeland. I currently live in Nagoya, but I often visit my hometown of Osaka and nearby Kyoto for work and for fun. I love travelling and learning about the places I visit, as well as meeting new people through delivering tours in Japan, my native land. I’ve been guiding foreign visitors to Japan for a couple of years, as well as Japanese people who come to Nagoya. My goal as a guide is to have my visitors discover things they never knew about Japan, especially about local culture, and to make wonderful memories during our time together. I'd love to show you the heart of Japan, and since I am also a professional piano player, I would be glad to take you to an amazing music club if you're a jazz or pop music enthusiast!

Join me on a memorable journey through Nagoya, where history & culture come alive! On this tour, we'll step into the past by visiting the historic Nagoya castle, a symbol of the city with stunning architecture and beautiful gardens. We'll get further immersed in the essence of Nagoya's past by wandering around Shikemichi, which presents a scenery dating back to the Edo period, with traditional storehouses and wooden townhouses lined along stone walls remains. But besides the past, I also want you to experience present day Nagoya, which is why I want us to soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the Endoji Shopping Street where you can find local delicacies, crafts, and souvenirs. Don’t miss out on sampling authentic Nagoya cuisine here! From tenmusu (tempura musubi) & misonikomi udon (miso-simmered udon noodles) to eel & fried shrimp. Whether you’re a history buff, a foodie, or just looking to explore, this tour offers something for everyone. Come and make unforgettable memories in Nagoya!
- Once we've gathered at an agreed-upon spot, we'll first head toward Nagoya Castle and contemplate its magnificent outer architecture. - Next, we'll get to a nearby garden, where the Honmaru Palace is located, which was the home of Upper Level Samurais. - We'll then proceed to step inside the Palace, where we'll see lots of historical art, from its stunning furniture to its astonishing ceiling and paintings. - Afterwards, we'll stroll through the charming streets of Shikemichi, enjoying Nagoya's best preserved historical district which also has old school traditional shops and art galleries. -In Shikemichi, you could even opt to sample Japanese tea or coffee at a traditional house. - Afterwards, we'll walk through the historic Endoji shopping district where you could enjoy some shopping and even get a taste of Nagoya cuisine. - Finally, I can either leave you to further explore on your own or accompany you back to where we met.
