The tours I give always have a level of enthusiasm that is beyond scripted - because I live here and know that each day brings changes that will interest me and let me excite the tourist. I know the landmarks, but I know the locals, and I can make a tour of an "ordinary" neighborhood exciting because I also know the history of New York. I know why this is the Empire City, and can convey the excitement of discovery on virtually every corner. I have learned to love this city perhaps as one learns to love a beautiful yet willful woman. For me to make a real and true connection with it, I had to become better acquainted with New York through an elaborate series of "dates" with its neighborhoods and their histories. I felt the city telling me to learn more about it first; I had to prove that I cared. Every neighborhood, just as every business in them, is like a library of melodramas and romances written by its denizens, past and present, all informed by a history that is growing every day from the hands, hearts and minds of those people. By running and walking, and making contacts with people in these neighborhoods and businesses, I have fully embraced my lover's assignment. In fact, after entering all these neighborhoods and businesses I felt compelled to "check out" and read their literature. I have became a licensed tour guide. I taught students how to pass the city's tour guide exam at City College. I lead groups, both large and small, that include high school students, businessmen and other adults, as well as retirees, both from the U.S. as well as abroad. I love taking people around my city. Overview of your New York City tour
If you have a layover of more than a few hours in New York, perhaps you would enjoy a few hours with me, and my 46+ year memory of living in Manhattan, as well as my lifetime of living in the metropolitan area, so that you could see the city through my eyes. The options are many - and although they do depend on which airport you're arriving in, and which one you're leaving from, you can still join me for a saunter in Central Park; or a stroll across Rockefeller Plaza - or to the Top of the Rock? Or maybe lunch in the Village? Or the Lower East Side? Or downtown near Wall Street - on Stone Street! We can see the Statue of Liberty. Just let me know! A layover can be such an ordeal - but why not let your private guide show you highlights of a city that seems so big and boisterous - let him ease you through your transition smoothly in a luxury SUV with a private driver - and enjoy a bite of the Big Apple! At the conclusion of the tour, your guide and driver will see you back to the airport

I thought Bill provided us with an excellent tour of a lot of the lesser known areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn. We had previously spent 5 days in Manhattan and covered all the main sights south of Central Park but Bill took us to some really interesting areas that we would never have found for ourselves. He then delivered us bang on time at Newark airport. He was knowledgeable, informative and above all friendly. I would highly recommend Bill to any visitor to NYC

Bill knows all about New York and can answer any question. But unlike many other tour guides that overwhelm you with the details and facts, Bill had a knack for sharing the information in a very interesting way and for adding unique touches to the tour. These "surprises" made the tour more enjoyable and memorable. We all agreed that the tour was excellent and that Bill made our last day in New York very special. Your New York City tour itinerary
We will meet at your airport or cruise port (Please specify: LaGuardia, John F. Kennedy, or Newark Liberty airports; or Red Hook cruise port in Brooklyn, Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, NJ, or the Manhattan Cruise Port along the Hudson River on West Street in Manhattan). We will travel to city and then take you around my great city. Do you have a special wish? Would you like a stroll in Central Park - or along Fifth Avenue - and where at one time the Vanderbilts seemed to inhabit whole blocks? Is this be the very first time you will have been in New York City? You've not seen the Brookoyn Bridge!? Lunch or dinner at a wide variety of restaurants is not included, but can be an additional New York experience to remember. We will drop you off at the Airport or other spot of your desire.
